    ALBATEX® CO protective colloid


    DYEING AUXILIARIES

    USES

    Facilitating exhaust and continuous dyeing of gray-state cotton and polyester/cotton blends with
    vat, reactive or substantive dyes.

    Characteristics Benefits

    • Disperses insoluble and sparingly • Speeds up the wetting of the goods and improves
    soluble calcium salts, pectin's, dye liquor penetration through the fiber assembly
    waxes and other impurities
    encountered in dyeing gray-state
    cotton in alkaline liquors

    • Prevents precipitation of hardness • Enhances the brilliance of dyeings

    PROPERTIES

    Chemical constitution Preparation based on anionic and non-ionic surfactants

    Ionic character Anionic

    Physical form Dark brown, low-viscosity, readily pourable liquid

    pH of 5% solution: About 7

    Specific gravity at 20°C About 1.2

    General stability Stable in hard water and to acids, alkalis and electrolytes in
    the usual amounts. Can be used together with anionic and
    non-ionic substances. Cationic products, particularly in acid
    liquors, can cause precipitation.

    Storage stability Stable at 20°C and in closed containers for at least 1 year. In
    the cold the viscosity may increase, but this does not impair
    the product’s effectiveness.

    Ecology/toxicology The usual hygiene and safety rules for handling chemicals
    should be observed in storage, handling and use. The
    product must not be swallowed.
