polypropylene container for storage, not a PVC container.

● You can avoid discoloration of the printing paper (especially in the recording area) by using a
water-soluble adhesive without solvents after gluing.

ATTENTION ● Since the printer paper is sensitive to heat, it is not suitable for a long recording period. If it is
necessary to keep records for a longer period of time, we recommend making separate
copies.

● Uneven cutting can cause a paper jam. Cut the paper straight.

This device is equipped with a built-in printer and can print out measured values.

4th MAINTENANCE

4.1 Daily checks

Dust is one of the main sources of error in this instrument. Make sure you have the window ( 17) cover
with the cover and cover the device with a dust cover when not in use.

When the viewing window ( 11) is contaminated, the monitor screen is difficult to see. In addition,
correct measurements cannot be made. You should see the measurement window ( 11) therefore
clean regularly.

● Clean the area around the measuring nozzle very carefully.

To avoid scratching the glass, first use a blower to remove the dust. Then clean the glass very
carefully with a cotton swab moistened with alcohol. Make absolutely sure that you do not touch
the measuring nozzle or use too much alcohol.

Note: This unit uses light; if the viewing window ( 11) is oily, you will not get correct measurement data. You
should see the viewing window ( 11) therefore make sure to clean it completely.

After about a year of operation, the window glass in the measuring nozzle is contaminated, the
fixation target is difficult to see, and correct measurements are no longer possible.
RM-8000B auto refractometer

If the glass is scratched, you will not get correct readings. You should therefore carefully clean the
glass with a cotton swab moistened with a cleaning solution or alcohol. Don't use too much alcohol.
If a cotton swab is soaked in alcohol and still inserted into the nozzle, it can cause problems.

Control of the measurement accuracy

Measure the supplied test eye and check its accuracy regularly.
