WordPress
WordPress had a bunch of helpful articles to help you set up a blog that people would actually be
interested in and read. The articles had a lot of posts so you can tell that the site has a lot of flow.
It was really easy to sign up too, which I think is a reason why so any people use it. It was really
useful that there a drop down box so you could change the language that the site was hosted in.
the host puts some ads on the blog but they are all relevant to blogging so they are not really
annoying or obnoxious. When you post on your blog, you are able to link it up with your
MySpace, Twitter or Facebook, which I thought was really cool so you do not have to keep
posting the same thing on every site.
There are 32 widgets that are available and they were mostly all helpful and interesting. There
are 15 different template layouts that you could choose from but there were many more different
colors like color inside of those templates. It’s really easy to add photos and videos to your blog;
all you have to do is click the Add An Image icon inside the image editor. You can add static
pages to regular blog pages with help from Geeky Coder.
Blogger
Blogger had a lot of really cool templates that you could use for your blog. But I don’t know
anything about writing HTML codes so editing the content of the template would be a little more
difficult for me. They had 6 premade templates that I really liked, so I wouldn’t even need to
make a customized one. You can change the font, size and color of the font within these
templates. It was also really helpful that they had spam detection for comments that people post
to your blog. They didn’t post any ads on the blogs that were not links to different parts of the
site. I saw 10 possible widgets for this site, though there may be more.
I liked that there was a step by step video on how to embed videos and photos to your blog; it
made it a lot simpler than trying to figure it out myself. You are able to add up to 10 static pages
to the regular blog page on this site.
