In this story of David and Goliath have I have a lot of realization in life but the lesson
that instilled in my mind that I could be able to reflect is particularly on how people respond
to adversity. I recognize that everyone reacts to hardship differently, and that it is not always
possible to rise above challenging circumstances. I insist that humans are more resilient than
they might think and not all negative experiences are incapacitating, instead it will make us
stronger individuals in the future.
One of the situations in the story where in David had practiced trusting God to help
him protect the sheep, he prepared himself to trust God when facing Goliath. This relates to
our real life situation, when by being a law student facing giant problem in life not only in
academics but also facing negative people who doubted my capacity and ability to reach my
dreams, people around us will say, "Are you sure?" Others might say, "You're crazy, you will
fail”, I realized that trusting God is one of the best way to surpass whatever hardship I
encounter like what David did when he encountered Goliath. It is no the
Furthermore, Saul offered his armor to David to help him to face Goliath, In our life
we will hear all kinds of advice about the giants (problem). We need discernment to separate
the good advice from the bad and courage to act once we decide to face our problem. Always
choose people that you think will help you to defeat your giant (problem), people that will lift
you up when you arere down. They are one of your best armor, the one that will never leave
you in times of down fall.
We should npt get side-tracked in battle by fearing those with better stuff. Remember
ohe lesson of David and Goliath "If you believe in God, He will be there for you when you
need Him. And He will help you do things you usually aren't capable of doing. I agree that If
we believe in God, we can do anything. Like our problems in life if we are shielded by God’s
power we can defeat the battle that we are experiencing. As I ended my paper we should
always remember that all giants look small when compared to God's power and grace.
All we need to remember is we are always bigger than our fears and that it is in our
actions that will defeat our fears. In the story David showed us that even size doesn’t matter,
it is one’s courage and commitment coupled with our heart that would always matter. We can
apply this in our everyday lives by thinking that we are bigger than the challenges we are
facing, and that we are bigger than every obstacles that we may encounter. Just like in law
school, there will be days that will not be favourable to us but we need to remember that we
can surpass those days by striving hard and getting up to the next level of our capacity as a
student. We should always remember that it is only a bad day, but not a bad life.
The last but never the least lesson that I learned from the story of David is to believe
because nothing is impossible. Believe to whom?, believe on yourself but most of all believe
that there is God who will never leave us especially in times when we needed him the most.
In the story Israelite’s did not believe that it was possible to defeat Goliath which all of them
feared the most. But, David did not stop on believing and by this belief he was able to do the
impossible. Just like in our lives there are times that we tend to give up on certain thing in
view of the fact that it was nearly possible to happen. This is the time that we can say that we
forgot about God, that we lost our belief in him. Meaning, we forgot to communicate with
him as we struggle in achieving the impossible. Since, if we truly believe in what he can do
we will never doubt as to whether such thing could possibly happen. In my law school
journey, a lot of times I would say to myself that it is impossible for me to finish this course
considering how hard it is that all aspects of your being will be affected. Yet, I chose to
continue this far inasmuch as I believe that God has a better plan for me in continuing this
journey.
We just need to face our problem with God in us and by that we can say that Size
(problem) no matter what it is will not matter.
