THE PUZZLING STORY

Level: Advanced

Organisation: Individual work

Preparation

a. Each student gets three words.


b. The words should be a combination of people,
objects and action.
c. Words are from:
 Proper Noun
 Common Noun
 Action Verb

Procedure

Create a story with the words and placed them in order


of their story. The words of the given parts of speech
should play main role in the story puzzle.
The past and future tense, descriptive language,
transitional words and phrases should be highlighted.

PRESIDENTIAL/ TOWN HALL DEBATE

Level: Intermediate/ Advanced

Organization: Individual

Preparation

Debating topics such as:

a. Animal cruelty,
b. Students should be wearing uniforms in institute;
c. Students under 13 should not have social media
accounts.

Procedure

Present your argument as if running in election, to be the


President, Vice President or mayor. Students should use
persuasive and argumentative language, phrases to
agree or disagree as well as transitional words and
phrases.
TAXI
Level: Advanced
Organization: Individual activity
Preparation
Visualize a city map with school, hospital, supermarkets,
gym, houses and street names.
Procedure
Build a conversation between a taxi driver and a person,
discussing directions to reach to a place. Directions for
different places on the city map. The taxi drivers should
try their best to clearly describe how to get to the place.
For example ‘Go straight ahead, then turn on Johns
avenue and then you will see the school which is next to
the red supermarket building.’
