his essay came about because one day, while reading

reviews of RPGs, I saw one too many people claiming


that any fantasy world which is LGBT friendly is
completely unrealistic. That, apparently, LGBT people just
started in 1969 when Elton John dropped his first album and
before that no one of note in history was ever LGBT and no
country or region was ever supportive of LGBT people.
Like the straw that broke the camel’s back, I just got

LGBT facts and myths from history, along with ways that Irene D. Bassett

culture. I’m heavily involved in it, and I myself am trans;

do not take me as an absolute authority on either history or
terminology and culture.

I’ve had people look over this for input and feedback, but I did
not send this into the Manager of LGBT affairs for review. I
encourage you to feel free to research those items which
interest you , and learn any mistakes I might have made or
facts I might have not known or left out.

bring it up with your players before the game and talk it out
with them first.
