Car Bluetooth - For cars with Bluetooth or
the road.
FEATURES
ADVANTGES
People with disabilities: - People with disabilities can benefit from speech recognition
programs. For individuals that are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, speech recognition software is used to
automatically generate a closed-captioning of conversations such as discussions in conference
rooms, classroom lectures, and/or religious services
increased efficiency
- Increases productivity, reduces costs and errors Lower
operational Costs Advances in technology will allow consumers and businesses to
implement speech recognition systems at a relatively low cost..
Controlling Digital Devices: Digital personal assistants like Alexa and Google Home
obviously require verbal communication between humans and computers. such devices
can be controlled by giving voice comaands.
DISADVANTAGES
Voice recognition software won't always put your words on the screen completely
accurately. Programs cannot understand the context of language the way that
humans can, leading to errors that are often due to misinterpretation.

The Disadvantages of
Voice Recognition
Software
By Carol Finch
A customer service agent is talking on the phone.
Voice recognition software turns speech into text -- you talk into the system and it
transcribes what you say. This is useful for people with visual impairments and those
with physical problems that make typing on a keyboard difficult. Others may use a
system because they find talking easier than typing or simply because it's fun. Voice
recognition technology is not perfect, however, and comes with a few
disadvantages.
To get the best out of voice recognition software, you need a quiet environment.
Systems don't work so well if there is a lot of background noise. They may not be
able to differentiate between your speech, other people talking and other ambient
noise, leading to transcription mix-ups and errors
Accuracy will become better and better. Dictation speech recognition will
gradually become accepted.
• Small hand-held writing tablets for computer speech recognition dictation and
data entry will be developed, as faster processors and more memory become
available.
Greater use will be made of "intelligent systems" which will attempt to guess
what the speaker intended to say. rather than what was actually said, as people
ofteN misspeak and make unintentional mistakes.
The statistical models that allow computers to decide what a person just said may
someday allow them to grasp the meaning behind the words.
