Umask, Setuid & Setgid Bits; Advanced Filesystem Commands; The course is designed for users with a high degree of familiarity Links and Symbolic Links; with UNIX environments, filesystems, UNIX commands and text File Compression; Backup Utilities; editors. ‘UNIX Fundamentals’ or a similar basic/intermediate UNIX Journalled filesystems; Virtual Filesystems; Volume management; Solstice Disksuite course is a prerequisite. Booting Up and Shutting Down: Initial system level PROM; The Autoboot process; Duration: Run Levels; Initialisation files; The course is designed as a 5-day workshop but can be reduced to 4- Manual System Startup; sync and fsck; Shutdown and Reboot; days to suit clients' needs.
