    WORK INSTRUCTIONS Reference:

    FOR ARC WELDING MACHINE Issue No:

    PURPOSE

    To define the series of activities in Arcs welding machines as to suit the specification of the
    welding machine displayed in the machine itself.

    BEFORE START – UP

    1. Visually check the machine for neutral connection.


    2. Connect the cable firmly and check that cable is within the reach of the job
    3. As per the instructions given by the supervisor and as per the fillet size marked on the
    job itself, select the suitable electrode and set the current accordingly.
    4. Clean the surface with brush before start up.
    5. Use welding helmet & gloves

    DURING OPERATION

    1. Ensure that root welding is done and clean the area with the help of wire brush and
    prepare for DP test if asked for.
    2. As per the fillet size, carry out welding so as to achieve the correct size of fillet.
    Every after a layer, remove the slag and check for any pin holes. In case of any pin holes,
    rectify and proceed further.

    DURING CLOSURE

    1. Ensure the cable is within the reach of the job.


    2. Repeat the same procedure as mentioned above.

    SHUT DOWN

    1. Switch off machine


    2. Remove the cable and place it in the safer place.
