uses interlocking channels that line up with our BLUE STRIPE® feature creating strong joints that come apart
with a push of a button.
The BLUE STRIPE® Take-Apart Hot Stick uses our advanced composite construction with epoxy resin and
unique non-woven fiberglass to create a smooth, durable surface that resists water absorption.
Features:

The BLUE STRIPE® Measuring Stick is our standard Telescopic Hot Stick (no tip
lock) with large, clear print running along side our patented BLUE STRIPE®
feature.
This stick allows for easy and accurate measuring while still functioning as a
normal telescoping hot stick.
Our Measuring Stick is the only round telescoping hot stick available in EIGHT
different sizes. Choose from 16’ to 50’, English or Metric versions.
Our epoxy resin and unique non-woven fiberglass construction creates a
smoother surface that resists water absorption. Our CNC machined spline end

Shotgun Sticks BLUE STRIPE®

Utility Solutions offers both internal rod and external rod fixed length shotgun sticks.
BLUE STRIPE® Shotgun Sticks are manufactured from the highest electrical grade
insulated fiberglass and meet or exceed all applicable industry performance criteria
including ASTM F711, IEC 855, and OSHA Sub. R Section 1910.269 (J) and OSHA
Sub. V Section 1926.951(d).
• Replaceable hanger hooks.
• Patented BLUE STRIPE® feature. When the stripe is facing up, the stainless
steel hook will open downward minimizing accidental drops.
• Stainless steel operating hook.
• Multiple rod guides ensure smooth operation.
• High performance closed cell foam prevents water absorption (external rod
models).
• Rubber Boot or spline end.
Standard model internal and external shotgun sticks utilize a full view side break hook
(hook pivots in the horizontal plane in relation to the hook release trigger).

The XLT line of Load Break Tools are specifically engineered to be light and maneuverable. The XLT-1 weighs
under 5 pounds and is approximately 1 lb 3 oz lighter than the competition. The arm attachment, counter
mechanism and other key components are centrally located so the weight of the tool is aligned with the hot stick
attachment giving the user maximum control.
SAFE & RELIABLE
The Utility Solutions XLT product line has higher metal-to-metal clearance when fully extended, compared to the
competition. This can reduce flash-over potential. The aluminum and fiberglass components are machined to
very high tolerances and are designed for long life.
EASY RESET
The XLT line was designed to be user friendly and simple to operate. The side reset button is easier than a
plunger style and allows a lineman to keep their gloves on, eliminating pinched fingers.
LOW PROFILE
The low profile head enables our tool to reach switches that have animal guards installed. Our built-in counter is
located in the body rather than the head allowing a smaller profile tool that is better balanced.
OPTIONS
The XLT line is offered with numerous options including a Pad Mount version, hard case, soft case, extended
insulated hood and an economical non-counter version.

Introducing the industry’s first portable switch fully rated from 7.2 kV to 27 kV at 600 amp for all three tool
functions:

The USBS-600 is designed with a patent pending internal safety lock. If the tool is not reset the tool will not open.

The BREAK-SAFE® is a jumper clamp that
functions like a portable switch. It is designed to
operate on overhead distribution lines in
conjunction with a mechanical jumper.
The BREAK-SAFE® has three operating functions:

Jumper-T Parking Stand

The Jumper-T is an insulated parking stand for temporary mechanical jumpers. It is made up of a 15” foam
filled fiberglass pole, aluminum parking stand and duckbill clamp.
The Jumper-T can combine two shorter jumpers to create extra reach when needed and is a useful
accessory when used with our BREAK-SAFE® tool. Simply move the jumper from the tools parking stand
and secure it onto a Jumper-T to create an approved visible gap.
The USJT-001 has a straight aluminum parking stand approximately 11 1/4” long and 5/8” in diameter.
The USJT-002 uses a bent parking stand that is 3/4” in diameter.
This allows jumpers to be clamped in both the horizontal and vertical plane. Attaching jumpers on the vertical
portion of the parking stand minimizes sag and reduces the potential for cross-phasing.
The duckbill clamp fits 4mm copper up to 31mm. The Jumper-T is rated for 300 Amperes Continuous Current
and meets or exceeds all applicable industry performance criteria including OSHA 1926.951(d)(1) and ASTM
F-711.

Tail Tamer™ – Temporary Conductor Clamp

The Tail Tamer™ (patent pending) is a revolutionary lineman invention that safely
controls conductors during construction and maintenance.
It is a temporary, multi-purpose hot line clamp for stringing, cutting and connecting
overhead conductors.
Lineman can get more done while creating a safer work area with the Tail
Tamer™.
1. Safely hold back tail ends of conductors when stringing new wire. Current
method is usually tape.
2. Safely cut slack conductors (up to 90Kg. of tension between Clamp &
Carabiner) while maintaining positive control of loose ends.
3. The Double Sided Clamp holds two conductors simultaneously. Easily attach
parallel grove and crimp connectors.
4. Functions as a Temporary Parallel Groove Connector rated at 300 Amps.

The unique pivoting design allows each arm to rotate 360 degrees to automatically lock in place without

The Bucket Mate Polymeric Hook is the only rated bucket hook available with a 5 year warranty.
Unlike conventional molded hooks the Bucket Mate is machined from high performance polymer and far more
rugged than traditional PVC.
Each hook is rated to hold 43kg even in extreme temperatures.
The Bucket Mate features a large hook to accept a tool bag, equipment or other large items on the interior
side of the bucket.
The opposing hook on the exterior side is a smaller ½” end that easily accepts blanket holes without
damaging them.
The Wide Slot Bucket Mate can accommodate thicker insulated buckets.

All Utility Solutions straight sticks are manufactured from the highest quality electrical grade fiberglass. Wall
thickness has been engineered to provide the utmost in mechanical strength to meet the rigors of in field
pushing, pulling or twisting of stubborn equipment.
Each stick interior is filled with a high performance closed cell foam to prevent water absorption. The stick
exterior has been chemically sealed to provide a smooth surface texture for easy cleaning.
Utility Solutions straight sticks meet or exceed all applicable industry performance criteria including ASTM
