In response to the critical care needs in Sanaag, the DoTerra Healing Hands Foundation and Asli-Maydi
Jibril Foundation are establishing the Sanaag Speciality Hospital a non-profit organisation located in in
Herigavo City Somaliland. Currently near the end of completion the Hospital is due to open December
2019.
Vision
To be a model referral hospital at the heart of eastern Somaliland’s healthcare system. Together with a
network of integrated health facilities and outreach services, provide sustainable quality, health care
amenities to the most remote, underserved populations in the country.
Strategic Objectives
The Foundations and its community partners are focusing their capacity and resources on developing
the Sanaag Speciality Hospital with the following strategic objectives. To have measurably reduced
child and infant mortality in the Sanaag region. Developed an effective and transparent governance
system representative of the community. To have recruited, developed, retained the highest quality and
most committed medical staff in country. Equipped its medical staff with the training, tools and
equipment to address the greatest health needs of the community. To have become the most trusted
heath care provider by community, government and donor partners. Supported and integrated health
services with other health care facilities and service providers throughout the region. To have secured
a diversified, sustainable income stream composed of various donors, fees for services and government
contributions.

Job Description:
Provide efficient and productive administrative support by coordinating hospital activities in a manner
that ensure holistic provision of medical services in line with the vision and mission of Sanaag Specialty
Hospital. the job holder is responsible for providing efficient and effective administrative support to
facilitate efficient provision of medical care in the Hospital.
To ensure success must have time management and organizational skills, with superb administrative
and record keeping skills be confident and professional, communication and problem-solving skills that
will contribute to the efficient functioning of the healthcare facility. Will work well under pressure while
multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and can effectively react to emergency situations.
The successful candidate in this role must have a have a deep understanding of all administrative
hospital procedures, from creating work schedules and communicating with doctors to budgeting and
maintaining supplies stock and maintaining employee records. You should understand healthcare
regulations and be able to handle medical information discretely.

Reporting: Directly to Managing Director.
• Managing Human Resources, staff elements and general services for the hospital, including
the laundry, Kitchen and allied health services. Responsible for logistical and security
departments of the hospital.
• Manages the Financials of the hospital, including financial analysis, accounts and bookkeeping
activities. Approving payments of all bills for common services.
• Coordinating and maintaining building and equipment. Managing contracts for maintenance
services by outside vendors and ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Managing the inventory of assets, both fixed and current, including stock of consumables and
non-chargeable. Ensuring timely payment of bills for common services.
• Preparing Annual Operational Plans and budgets for presentation to the CEO.
• Ensuring timely procurement of the departmental requirements. Approving procurement of
appropriate office furniture.
Key Responsibilities
General Administration
• Acts as chief advisor to the Director and takes responsibility in development and
implementation of Hospital’s programs, policies and procedures;
• Ensure alignment of the Hospital Strategic Plan to achieve both long term and short-term goals
• Assists the daily operation of the Hospital and various departments,ensuring the staff, facilities,
schedules and flow of work is optimally carried out
• Participates in the budgeting of the Hospital activities with a view of achieving proper controls;
• Creating business strategies in line with the hospital budget to ensure viability of the hospital.
• In liaison with the medical superintendent & Procurement, review purchases requisitions, LPO
and quotations for timely approval by the director to ensure timely Purchases of Medical and
Other Consumables needed in the hospital;
• Leads and manages employees, ensuring that clear goals and accountabilities are established
and achieved. Ensures that individual performance and development needs are met and that
employees are high performing and engaged.
• Produces systematic performance indicator reporting to inform management as to progress,
roadblocks, and relevant performance details
• Oversee the performance of all employees through a robust performance management system.
• Spearheads culture change to improve the Hospital image;
• Responsible for excellent upkeep of sanitation of hospital for a clean and amiable environment;
• Participates in staff recruitment process for the position approved by the director;

• Couching and guiding other employees on the hospital policies, rules, procedures and handling
of disciplinary process
• Ensure proper documentation and safe custody of personal files and organisation documents
Administration
Compliance
• Ensures that, there is full compliance with the existing statutory requirements/ healthcare
regulations and that all the necessary licenses are obtained in time;
• Ensure compliance with Health, safety and Environment within the facility and unsure
compliance with the risk audits
Customer Service
• Resolve any conflicts that might arise from the Hospital operations;
• Promotes and maintains effective public relations with government, patients, relatives,
suppliers, community and individuals;
• Ensure the hospital runs efficiently and delivers quality patient care.
