  Monday, February 28:   
  NO CLASSES – EDSA Revolution Holiday  Just a reminder, Kawayan Special Dedication Bought Pages
    are due on March 2 (Wednesday).
  Tuesday, March 1:   
  NO CLASSES – Faculty In Service   A bought page is a page that you create that we include at
the back of Kawayan after all the senior pages. It can contain
    anything - messages from family for their graduating kids,
  Wednesday, March 2:  messages and picture collages of friends and “barkadas”,
  Student Late Start  group/club pictures, etc. You can buy as many pages as you

TIME TO SIGN UP FOR THE INFLUENZA VACCINATIONS

Please Note:    If your child is 9 years old or below and receiving their flu vaccination for the first time, a second vaccination will be 
required at least 4 weeks later.  If there are sufficient numbers, I will arrange for this to be available in school, if not, 
you  will  need  to  make  alternative  arrangements  with  your  own  health  care  provider.    The  above  price  is  per 
individual vaccine. 
       
If you would like more information about the above vaccine, please contact the clinic on the number/email below or call in to pick up 
a registration form (next to the elementary canteen). Only people with a valid ISM ID may participate in this program.   
 
PAYMENT FOR THESE VACCINATIONS MUST BE MADE TO THE CASHIER BY NO LATER THAN FRIDAY 4TH MARCH, 2011.  VACCINES WILL 
THEN BE ORDERED AND NO FURTHER REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Dengue – a gentle reminder 
Please be aware that dengue does not disappear altogether during the drier months, although it is more common during 
the wet season there are still a number of cases reported every month.  There is still a need to be vigilant and try to avoid 
getting bitten by mosquitoes by:  
 using mosquito repellent, 
 destroying any possible mosquito breeding areas at home, 
 wearing long sleeves/trousers and 
 closing mosquito nets and outside doors. 

SUMMER PROGRAM IN SPAIN:

Summer Language Study / Home-Stay / Travel Program to Spain

The International School Manila Modern Language Department is pleased to announce its 2011 Summer Language Study /
Home-Stay / Travel Program to Spain. ISM students can dramatically improve their oral and written Spanish skills by
spending a few weeks immersed in The proposed period of time in Spain this summer is from June 11 until July 10.

In order to proceed with the organization of this activity, we need to know the number of students who are interested in
participating. If you are interested in receiving more information about this summer course, please email Adriana

FROM THE ATAC OFFICE: ISM GOODWILL GYMNASTICS MEET – SAT MARCH 5 MS GYM: 
IASAS  
Cultural Conventions 2011: ISM will host our annual gymnastics meet on March 5th. This is a huge event for 
our gymnastics team  and this year we have record numbers of entries with 300+

ISM INTERNATIONAL SWIM MEET:


Last weekend ISM Sailfish Swim team hosted the first international swim meet at our school pool with teams
from Shanghai, Thailand, Jakarta and Singapore joining local teams from British School Manila, Brent and Assumption
College for a meet held Saturday and Sunday morning. Over 240 swimmers raced and with fantastic weather and superb
organization by Coach Andy and his team of Sailfish Parent volunteers the meet was a big success. Thanks also to
sponsors Fitness First, SM Supermarkets, Aquamondo and S&R Shopping. See Coach Andy’s Sailfish blog for meet

IASAS BADMINTON: April 18‐21 
Information related to the IASAS Badminton Tournament can now be found on the ATAC Blog

We are currently accepting housing offers for the 80 visiting Badminton athletes if you can help  with  housing please 
read details on the blog and a housing letter can also be accessed via the blog or hard copy picked up from the ATAC 
office.

group of volunteers in the Bearcat Den please contact our BCD volunteers coordination Chantel
