1. Categories A & B are divided into two teams namely ATLANTA HAWKS & MILWAUKEE BUCKS.
While Categories C & D are divided into four groups namely Gryffindor (RED), Hufflepuff (YELLOW),
Ravenclaw (BLUE), and Slytherin (GREEN).
For the yelling competition, each team must have 20 participants. The said competition should only
be performed for 3-5 minutes. Failure to follow the guidelines will result to disqualification.
For banner raising, each team must have 2 participants. It includes one student and one teacher.
For Mascot presentation, it will only be performed by the ATLANTA HAWKS & MILWAUKEE BUCKS.
There must be two mascots for each team. One for Team Mascot and another one for Sports Mascot.
They are free to choose any sports they want.
3. For this year’s palaro, the search for Mr. & Ms. Palaro will be given to categories C & D. It will be
held on August 29, 2019 at 1:00pm. Each team shall have one male and female representatives.
The candidates will have the following exposures: Production number, School uniform, Talent, Long
gown/formal attire, sports attire and the question and answer portion.
For the production number, a letter will be given to the principal requesting the approval of the
schedule for practice by the participants with the supervision of Ms. Rizzajoy Nalda, Ms. Queenie
Marcos and Mr. Ellakim Antoque. Participants shall wear their team shirts and white pants for this
exposure.
For the Long gown/Formal attire, the participants are free to choose whatever attire they want as
long as it is not too revealing. The attire should be decent looking and will not provoke malice from
the audience.
For the sports attire, the coaches have drawn lots for their candidates’ sports attire. The results are
as follows: Gryffindor – Lawn tennis & Basketball, Hufflepuff- Soccer and table tennis, Ravenclaw-
Volleyball & Badminton, and Slytherin- Golf & base/softball.
For the Question and answer portion, the questions will be constructed by the committee and will
be checked and approved by the principal.
Aside from these, the candidates will also be exposed to a photoshoot for the Photogenic award. The
attire for the photoshoot should be casual and decent looking. Teams are expected to pay ₱ 50.00
per candidate for the photographer and picture printing.
Another award to be given is the People’s Choice award. The points for this award will be coming
from social media Likes and fund raising. The pictures of candidates will be uploaded on Facebook
to generate “Likes” from people. This is of course, with the candidates’ consent. The participants
with the greatest number of Likes from social media and with the most amount of money from their
fund raising will be declared winner.
4. The Palaro games are divided into three kinds, namely ball games, mind games and parlor
games. The following are the games that the committee suggested with the required number of
participants.
A. Parlor Games
Patintero - 5 participants/team
Luksong baka - 5 participants/team
Tug of war - 10 participants/team
Kadang-kadang - 5 participants/team
B. Ball games
Basketball - 12 male participants/team
Softball - 12 female participants/team
Baseball - 12 male participants/team
Volleyball - 8 male & 8 female participants/team
C. Mind games
Chess - 1 male & 1 female participants/team
Scrabble - 1 male & 1 female participants/team
Quiz bee - 1 male and 1 female participants /team
5. The suggested highlight of the palaro 2019 competition is the Dance sport contest which will
require 2 pairs per team. The participants will be dancing cha-cha, rumba, jive and tango with one
uniform music to be prepared by Mr. Sherwin Tuble, The said contest will be performed on the last
day of palaro.
The meeting was started with a prayed led by Mrs. Rodelyn Arong.
1. The Opening program will be held on September 16, 2019. The activity on this day only includes
Trivia & Quiz bee.
Next activity for the week will be the Slogan Making Contest which shall be held on September 17,
2019 at the stage with 1 hour allotted time. This will be done by participants under categories B
and C only (2 participants/grade level). Carboard size to be used should be ¼. Writing and coloring
materials must be provided by the participants themselves.
On September 18 and 19 2019, room activity will be performed by students under category A to be
supervised by their respective advisers. The activity is called “Clay Dough Making Contest”. Each
grade level has an assigned object for them to make using their clay. For kinder, they are assigned
to make a flower. For Grade 1 is an animal, grade 2 is a house, and for grade 3 is a jar.
On the same day, a movie marathon is scheduled for category C which shall be held only in the
afternoons. Only Sci-Fi movies will be available for screening. Also, there will be a fee of 5 pesos per
student as part of the fund raising.
Finally, the culminating activity will be held on September 20, 2019. Activities on this day includes
Parlor games, paint me a picture with a twist, Science inventions now and then for categories A-D
and Science inventors look alike to be performed by the teachers. The teachers have drawn lots as
to who will be included in the competition and the results are as follows: For high school
department, participants are Ms. Ugbamin, Ms. Herman, Mr. Toledo, and Mr. Sanson. For
elementary department, participants are Ms. Sardan and Ms Servella. They are free to choose the
scientists that they would like to mimic. Also, they must prepare a short speech about the scientist
that they are portraying.

1. As part of the 29th Library Information Month, The GSMS will be celebrating the National Book
Week 2019.
For Quiz bee competition, this will be participated by categories A-D to be held on November 25,
2019. Category A is scheduled at 9:40-10:30 AM. Category B is scheduled at 10:30-11:20 AM.
Category C and D is scheduled in the afternoon at 1:00 PM onwards.
For Spelling Bee competition, this will be held on November 26, 2019 to be participated by
categories B, C and D. Category B is scheduled at 10:30-11:20 AM and Categories C and D is
scheduled in the afternoon from 1:00 PM onwards.
The Final competition is the Scrambled Word to be participated by Categories B, C and D. This will
be held on November 27, 2019. Category B will start 10:30 and will end at 11:20 AM. While
categories C and D will be in the afternoon at 1:00 PM onwards.
All the activities mentioned will be supervised by the librarian, Mrs. Sales, in the School Library.
There should only be two participants per grade level (one per section). Should assistance be
needed, the faculty and staff agreed to offer help. Ms. Quuenie Marcos offered to help since she has
no class on the afternoon of November 26, 2019.
2. Mrs Rodelyn Arong reminded the faculty and staff about Thanksgiving Day on November 29,
2019. Envelopes for offertory should be given to students by the advisers. Aside from this, an
offertory of any kind should also be given for the mass per section. There will be no class in the
afternoon due to Spiritual Emphasis for faculty and staff.

1. As part of the tradition of the school, everyone is expected to participate in the Hanging of the
greens. There is no fixed date yet as to when it will be held but it could be on December 2 or 9
2019. Christmas decors has been assigned for each grade level.
Advisers will only assign students who will hang the decors because not all are advised to come up
stage as it may result to commotion or overcrowding.
2, For Parol Making contest, there is no required materials to be used but it should be PINOY style.
Mrs. Torres suggested the size of the parol to be 3 feet. Participants are from category A-D. That is,
Category A (kinder to grade 3) versus Category B (grade 4 to grade 6) and Category C (grade 7 to
grade 9) versus Category D (grade 10 to grade 12).
3.The modern dance contest will be participated by categories B and C. The length of time for the
performance of each group participants should only be from 3-5 minutes. Failure to follow will
result to disqualification. Also, there must only be 5-7 members for each grade level.
4. Finally, the caroling dance contest will be performed by the teachers. There should be two groups
for this competition. Each team must be a mixture of elementary and high school teachers. This is a
sing and dance competition, so teachers are not allowed to use readily made music. They may use
musical instruments like drums and tambourine instead to add music to their performance. The
teachers have drawn lots as to who will be under team A or team B. The results are as follows.

1. Parada ng ksuotan will be from the school (GSMS) going to Katatagan village and then back to
school. A couple (male and female) from category A to D, wearing Filipiniana will walk ahead of each
group under their arch. This will be conducted during the opening day on august 2, 2019 at 8:00
AM.
For Slogan contest, there shall be two participants for each grade level under category A. This will
be held on August 9, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 PM.
The Tula competition must only have one participant per grade level under category A. The piece
(FILIPINO: WIKANG PAMBANSA) is given by Ms. Jenelyn Ilaida.
The poster making contest will be participated by category B. Only two participants per level are
allowed to join. This will be held on August 16, 2019 from 2:00-4:00PM.
For the Sayawit competition, only 5-6 participants are allowed to join under category B. The
performance should be no more than 5 minutes.
The Pagsasatao/Role playing will be performed by only one participant per grade level under
category c. Participants are free to choose their preferred fictional character. The performance shall
only be 3-5minutes long.
For the Katutubong sayaw competition, participants will be coming from categories C and D. There
should only be 10 members/group. The katututbong sayaw was assigned to each grade level by
draw lots.

The schedule of activities for the Opening Day (August 2, 2019) is divided into two parts. Part 1 will
be held in the morning. Activities for part 1 includes Parada ng kasuotan and Tula. Part 2 is in the
afternoon with the following activities: Sayawit, Pagsasatao, and Katutubong sayaw.
The faculty shall wear Barong for the top and black pants/skirt for the bottom.
