❑ Initial name was “Air Bangla International”
❑ 4th January 1972, It started its Journey
❑ With DC 3 Aircraft
❑On 4 February 1972, Biman started its first
scheduled service on Dhaka-Chittagong
❑Biman started it’s first international flight on 4
March 1972 with a chartered aircraft to carry
overseas Bangladeshi passengers.
In 1977 the Government, through
Ordinance No. XIX of 1977 made
Biman a Corporation
In 23rd July, 2007 Biman converted in Public Ltd Company
under the registration no C 67807(358)07

Biman Bangladesh Mobile App and Third Terminal

• On 28 December 2019, Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh


Hasina launched the Biman Bangladesh Airlines Mobile App.
• She also laid the foundation stone of the third terminal
of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
• The app was made available for passengers around the world.
IOSA Audit
Biman Bangladesh Airlines first registered for The IATA Operational Safety Audit
(IOSA) Audit in 2007, IOSA audit takes place in every two years.

Some specialized courses have been introduced for new training sessions.

❑ General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

To practice transparency and accountability and employee motivation, the cabinet


introduced APA in the fiscal year of 2014-2015. From then it has been upgraded several
times. The last upgradation was made for the fiscal year 2020-2021 and Biman
Bangladesh Airlines has to follow the agreement as per requirements.
