In this problem I choose that when B=0, and A=6 the plot is going to be (6,0) and when A=0, and B=9 the plot will
be (0,9)

In this case every number that is under the line across the chart is a solution of this problem
(2) 12A+8B≥480
For this solution when B=0, and A=40 the plot is (40,0) and when A=0 and B=60 then (0,60)
To make sure that this is correct A=B=0 is false as this is not equal or higher number than the 480

All the numbers that are below the line will be considered solution for this equation
So when A=40,B=0 and when A=0,B=20, I have another one when A=20 and B=10

In this equation only the numbers that are on the line will be considered a solution
find the optimal solution using the graphical solution procedure. What is the value of the
objective function at the optimal solution? 11. Solve the following linear program using the graphical
solution procedure:
Max s.t.
5A + 5B
1A <= 100
1B <= 80
2A + 4B <= 400
A,B >= 0
Second B= 80
First clear A and will let you with B= 400/4 = 100 then clear B and will let you A= 400/2 = 200
The plot will be (0,100) and (200,0) after plotting these equations you will need to subtract the 100 from the 400
with the result of A+4b = 300
Then the result of A+4b = 300 will be multiply by 2 getting a 2A + 8 B = 600 and to simplify the result multiply the
original equation with -2
2A + 8B = 600
-2A – 4B =-400
4B = 200 = 4B 200/4 = 50

Problem 2.23
Embassy Motorcycles (EM) manufacturers two lightweight motorcycles designed for easy handling and
safety. The EZ-Rider model has a new engine and a low profile that make it easy to balance. The Lady-Sport model
is slightly larger, uses a more traditional engine, and is specifically designed to appeal to women riders. Embassy
produces the en- gines for both models at its Des Moines, Iowa, plant. Each EZ-Rider engine requires 6 hours of
manufacturing time and each Lady-Sport engine requires 3 hours of manufac- turing time. The Des Moines plant has
2100 hours of engine manufacturing time avail- able for the next production period. Embassy’s motorcycle frame
supplier can supply as many EZ-Rider frames as needed. However, the Lady-Sport frame is more complex and the
supplier can only provide up to 280 Lady-Sport frames for the next production period. Final assembly and testing
requires 2 hours for each EZ-Rider model and 2.5 hours for each Lady-Sport model. A maximum of 1000 hours of
assembly and testing time are available for the next production period. The company’s accounting department
projects a profit contribution of $2400 for each EZ-Rider produced and $1800 for each Lady- Sport produced.
a. Formulate a linear programming model that can be used to determine the number of units of each model
that should be produced in order to maximize the total contribu- tion to profit.
For A
E = EZ rider produced
For this we know that that the E requires 6 hours to be produced and the L needs 3 hours of produced
For the second the assembly and testing will required 1,000 at a max and each will take different time E = 2 and L
2.5 therefore 2E + 2.5L <= 1,000
6E + 3L <= 2,100
6E + 3(200) = 2,100
6E = 1,500
E= 250
