    “The self is not present at birth, rather, it develops while growing through social

    experiences” as the basic idea about self development. Gerry Lanuza about our
    modern society that we have freedom in choosing our self-identity. While in the
    postmodern societies, our self-identity continuously change due to the demands of
    multitude of social context, new information technologies, and globalization. He said
    that the personality of a person or the ‘self’ can be freely chosen by the people of
    Modern Societies, not affected by culture and any other factors. Wherein, Freedom is
    emphasized.

    In my own understanding about Gerry Lanuza own theory of self emphasizes the
    word freedom which means people tend to lose some control over something, tend to
    detach themselves to others because of being free. You can freely choose who you
    want to socialize with, who you want to be in the future because this is you, this who
    you want to be and that is who you really are. In today's modernization and due to
    the raise of technology people lost their contact to each other while other may be
    physically are there by your side but the truth is they're mentally and socially absent.
    They are lack of activities and social interactions because of technology. As you have
    the freedom, choose the path that you will take in your life, but before you choose
    you must be aware on the outcomes of your choices in life. This is the reason why
    many people are doing crime just to afford something they want because they have
    the freedom to do it . I’ve also noticed that in today’s world, most of the dreams of
    many people are to have big house, prestige car, in short to become rich. But we
    definitely forgot what’s the real reason of our life. Unfortunately, most of us forgot
    who really we are as a human being because they were blinded by money.
    Searching for self-identity is indeed challenging, we maybe have a choice but can we
    really choose the right one? So wisely choose the path that you are going to take in
    life and make sure that it will make your life better and You need to have a
    contentment in your life to achieve the happiness that you want as the world
    continuously by the time pass by specially in the future.
