Tools:
885812 Timing tool
9998681 Rotation tool
1. Install M8x75 mm —10.9 bolts in the holes for the IEGR-unit on the rocker arm holders.
2. Rotate the engine with 9998681 Rotation tool to the position where the valves on cylinder 1 overlap each other. Mark
the position on the vibration damper in order to easier find that position for overlapping later in the operation.
NOTE!
Work carefully when installing and removing the rotation tool so that the spacers do not fall into the flywheel housing.
Figure 1
Overlapping means that the exhaust valve is about to close and the inlet valve is about to open. It should not be possible to
rotate any push rods by hand for the cylinder in question in this position.

Overlapping
3. Adjust the valve clearance for each cylinder according to the grey markings in the figure. Procedure for adjusting:
Figure 3
Grey-marked valves can be adjusted when valves for cylinder 1 overlap.
Figure 4
4. Rotate the crankshaft another full turn until the valves for cylinder 6 overlap. Adjust the valve clearance for each
cylinder according to the grey markingsin the figure.
NOTE!
When all valves are adjusted, do not rotate the engine. Continue directly with installing and adjusting the IEGR-unit.
Figure 5
Grey-marked valves can be adjusted when valves for cylinder 6 overlap.
5. Install a new pipe between the two IEGR-sections. Lube the O-rings.
8. With overlapping valves for cylinder 6, adjust IEGR—opening piston for cylinder 1, 3 and 5. Procedure for adjusting
IEGR-opening piston:
9. Rotate the crankshaft another full turn until the valves for cylinder 1 overlap. Adjust IEGR—opening piston for
cylinder 2, 4 and 6.
