    Prabowo

    Prabowo Subianto Djojohadikusumo (born in Jakarta, October 17, 1951; age 67 years) is a
    politician, businessman and high-ranking Indonesian military officer. He studied military training
    and training for 28 years before working in business and politics. Together with Hatta Rajasa, he
    advanced as a candidate for the 7th Indonesian President in the 2014 general election, but was
    surpassed by the pair Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla. He again ran for president in the 2019
    Indonesian presidential election, paired with Sandiaga Uno.
    Finally in Jakarta, Prabowo's childhood as the son of economist Soemitro Djojohadikoesoemo
    was often passed abroad with his parents. His uncle's interest in the military was approved by
    his uncle, Soebianto Djojohadikusumo in the Battle of Lengkong. After graduating from the
    Military Academy in Magelang in 1974 as second lieutenant, he became one of the
    commanders of the youngest operation in the history of the Army while leading the operations
    of the Nanggala Team in East Timor. His career skyrocketed after being approved as Deputy
    Commander of the Terrorism Counter-Detachment at Special Forces Command in 1983. In
    1996, Prabowo was appointed as General Commander of the corps. When approved, he led the
    hostage release operation in Mapenduma. During the fall of President Soeharto, his father-in-
    law, in May 1998, Prabowo was being functioned as Commander of the Strategic Reserve
    Command.
    After being dismissed from military service, Prabowo spent time in Jordan and in several
    European countries. Upon his return to Indonesia, he pursued the business world, following in
    the footsteps of his younger brother Hashim Djojohadikusumo who was a conglomerate.
    Prabowo's business was published changing 27 companies engaged in different sectors. In
    2008, he founded the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra). In addition, he was also
    active as chairman of the Indonesian Farmers Association and the Indonesian Pencak Silat
    Association.
