1. Introduction
Value added services (VAS), as what the name implies, are additional services
incorporated to main service of a company. VAS is now well established in the mobile
services sector helping to grow traffic revenues and profit, providing the users with
tangible benefits and opening up new markets.
Value Added Services is emerging on the horizon as technologies continue to push
forward the frontiers and as user requirements become more clearly defined. As
knowledge of the mobile user and the mass market becomes more and more important
for future revenue growth, new players are moving into the Value Added Services
market including: service providers, content providers, retail organizations, and
advertisers. This augurs’ changes in the structure of the mobile industry as the power
shifts to those players closest to the users. Value Added Services continue to grow
traffic. The Internet is emerging as a driver for messaging and information data
applications as it is married with new terminal and software technologies. Companies
especially in telecom industry use the VAS services strategy in order to acquire more
clients, as well as to retain their regular customers. Of would love to get these services
without wasting their valuable time, at any time and place. This service allows the
customers to receive information such as weather, finance, sport, news, tips, etc. with
reasonable price.
Our goal (vision) is becoming a trusted vas provider with in the market and we want
to establish leader Value added services which assist EthioTelecom in shaping its
service innovation, within the next decades.
The targeted customers are all persons who own a cell phone.

VICTORY Technology Company works on developing mobile apps and computer
software, webpage designing and consulting companies on the field with its highly
qualified and ethical firms; stands for innovation, honesty, integrity and community to
create innovative, healthy, country loving generation who can make this country to
move forward. And have a vision to be one of the internationally notable companies in
the technology world.
Our goal is to expand our services by reinforcing our firm with various professions
within six to twelve months, and create more job opportunities.

VICTORY IT technology have three main parts the first one is System
Administrator which handled our total system problem and database by following
SMS flow and uploading contents. The second one is Content creator who creates
and arranges beautiful contents and the last one is Manager who control follow and
work together with both two.
General Manager: -The VAS Manager is responsible for developing and managing
the VICTORY IT Value Added Services portfolio based on market requirements and
technology capabilities. The VAS will be responsible for achieving annual revenue
To select their operators based on the type of VASs the operator provides, so it is
important for Operators around the world to introduce new and innovative Value
Added Services in order to both attract more customers and retain their market. In
summary, VASs are considered the most important area for the operators and the
demand for VASs are very high among subscribers.
Currently our country Ethiopia represents largest and fastest growing market in
vas, this growth driven increase in content consumption on mobile phone and growing
popularity of vas.
Contents of the above services are sent via short message service (SMS) with a

9. Transparency
We are willing and ready to start our service with in the new SdpApI solution
integration and we are willing to give access of our database and interface for Ethio
Telecom staffs. We are also willing and happily for site visit.
11. Conclusion
Value added service is a service beyond the basic phone and internet. And also it is
best mechanism operators used to attract customers and increase its income. Due to
this operators require companies which provide contents. Especially in our current
case Ethio Telecom need local companies which provide local content to attract
customers. So we have a great interest to be one of them and assist Ethio Telecom in
shaping value added service innovation.
Generally VAS standing on 4 pillars:-
Ø Technology:-this is a plat form used to deliver VAS service to customer like
SMS, GPRS, USSD and IVR. And this plat form is handled by operator.
Ø Access device: - which are devices used to access services like mobile.
Ø Content: - this can be texts, videos, audios and pictures.
