Load Transfer by a Shear Clip for an Aircraft


Challenge
• Determine the shear force transferred by the shear clip to the
spar web.
Solution
• A sequence of hierarchic solutions for 3D-contact analysis is
performed to determine the shear force transferred by the
shear clip to the spar web, and to provide convergence
information as the number of degrees of freedom increases.
Result
• Computing these results with solution converge allows the
customer to obtain critical input data with the expected
confidence expected from an Engineering Handbook solution.

Ply-by-Ply Composite Joint


Challenge
• Compute the energy release rate in a ply delamination.
Solution
• Allows the engineer to know if they have a risk of catastrophic
failure of the joint.
Result
• Computing these results with solution converge allows the
