Setting Up Ngrok: Requirements

To host an online multiplayer FNF server: 1. Download and set up Ngrok to create a public URL for the server. This involves registering an account and running ngrok.exe. 2. Start the server by running the appropriate region-specific .bat file alongside ngrok.exe. 3. Copy the public URL shown in Ngrok and share it with other players, removing the "tcp://" part. 4. Players can then connect by entering the shared URL in the FNF Multiplayer client.

You are on page 1/ 4

Requirements:

Ngrok (Only the host will need it): https://ngrok.com/

FNF Multiplayer (obviously): https://shadowmario.itch.io/funkinmulti
A Brain: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brain

To access the Online Menu, go to Freeplay -> Online Mode

Setting up Ngrok
Grab a snack, this is the worst part.
Download Ngrok (it will come inside a .zip file) and extract it somewhere.
After that, you must register an account, it is required for starting a TCP tunnel.

After registering your account, you will have access to the Auth token menu, copy the Auth token code
shown.
Now,
open

ngrok.exe, a command prompt will be opened, type “ngrok.exe authtoken <paste

your auth code here>” in it.
If a line saying “Authtoken saved to configuration file” has been shown, congratulations, you’ve set it up properly! You can now close ngrok.exe.
I’ve included some .bat files that will start the server automatically on the region of your preference, put those .bat files inside the same folder as
ngrok.exe.

Starting your Server and Connecting

First off, open the appropriate .bat for your region.
Now, finally open Friday Night Funkin’ Multiplayer and go to the Server tab, and fill the field at the bottom EXACTLY as shown below, then press
“Start Server”
That’s right! You’ve just started your very first server!
“Now, how can people join my server?” Piece of cake! Remember how I told you to open the .bat file? Copy the IP being shown in Ngrok, in my
case, the IP was tcp://0.tcp.sa.ngrok.io:17456, but obviously it will be different in yours.

After that, send the

Ngrok IP to your
partner, but
delete the tcp://
part from it since it
isn’t

necessary. This is how it should look like on their side:

After that, they just need to press Connect. Have fun!

How can I play with Custom charts?

Custom charts don’t appear in the chart list, so instead you have to type their folder’s name.
Both players must have the chart installed on their PC, otherwise it won’t work.

How can I start the match?

Both players should press “Ready”, it is on the Client tab. Seriously, that’s all.

I still need help (or someone to play with)!
