Introduction
About this book:
This book contains a collection of games and activities intended for use in centers and small
groups with children in Kindergarten (Prep).

Each activity includes a center label that can be printed and placed on the front of your
storage device. Also included are “I can” center instructions to help children remember what
to do. I have included a recording page at the end of each activity in order to have
evidence of each child’s work.

Directions for use:

1. Spring write & wipe number tracing (1-20)
To prepare the cards for use in a write and wipe center, print, laminate them, and then cut
them apart. The intention of this activity is for children to practice correct number
formation with a dry-erase marker. The cards can be kept in a book-like format by
punching a hole in the top left corner and securing the cards together with a key ring or a
pipe-cleaner.

2. Spring count and write

To prepare the cards for use in a write and wipe center, print, laminate them, and then cut
them apart. The aim of this activity is for children to count the items on the card and write
their answer in the circle provided.

3. Spring missing numbers (1-20 X4 cards; 1-50)

For this activity, you have the option of using the number tiles included in the unit or you
may supply your own. To prepare for use, print the pages, laminate them for durability and
then cut along the dashed lines. The aim is for children to identify the missing numbers and
place the correct tiles in the empty boxes to complete the number sequence.

4. Spring flowers skip counting by 10s, 5s and 2s write & wipe

To prepare this write and wipe activity, print, laminate and cut out all the cards. You may
like to make a hole in the top left hand corner of each card and secure all the cards
together with a key ring, pipe cleaner or ribbon. The aim is for children to complete the skip
counting number sequence by writing the missing numbers using a dry-erase marker.
5. Spring ten frame match (up to 20)
To set up this activity for use, print and laminate the pages and then cut out the card. The
aim is for children to count the objects on the frames and place the matching number word
and number in the empty boxes.

6. Spring place value (1-20)

To prepare this activity, print and laminate the cards. See the activity pages for additional
set up information. The aim is for children to identify how many tens, ones and the total
number for each card.

7. Spring flowers and petals number match (1-20)

To prepare the cards for use, print, laminate and cut out all the cards. The aim is for
children to match the different number representations on the coloured petals to the
correct flower.

8. Spring greater than, less than, equal to (pictures)

To prepare this activity for use, print and laminate all the cards and signs. The aim is for
children to identify which group of pictures is greater, which is less or whether they are
equal.

9. Spring greater than, less than, equal to (1-100)

To prepare this activity for use, print and laminate all the cards and reindeer signs. The aim
is for children to identify which number is greater, which is less or whether they are equal.

10. Spring ten frame addition (10 and 20)

Please note: You will need to provide children with small cubes for this activity. To prepare
the activity for use, print, laminate and cut out all the cards.
The aim is for children to show the different ways to make 10 and 20 on the cards
provided.

11. Spring subtraction with pictures (1-10)

To prepare the activity for use, print, laminate and cut out all the cards.
The aim is for children to work out the subtraction equation using the pictures on the card.

12. Spring count, tally and graph write & wipe

To prepare this activity, print and laminate the cards. The aim is for children to count and
represent their findings on the graph by colouring the appropriate number of squares with
an erasable marker or crayon and then draw tallies.
13. Label the shape (2-D and 3-D)
To prepare this activity, print the cards and labels, laminate them for durability and then cut
them apart. The aim of this activity is for children to identify each shape and match the
corresponding name to each card.

14. Shapes in real life clip it

Please note: You will need to supply children with some small clothes pins or other clipping
device. To prepare the cards for use, print, laminate and cut them apart. The aim of this
activity is for children to clip a pin to the real life picture that matches the shape shown at
the front of the card.

15. Spring time match (analog and digital clocks to the hour)
Print, laminate and cut out the cards. The aim of this activity is for children to match the
digital time to the correct analogue clock.

16. Build a Spring pattern (AB/ABB/AAB/ABC)

To prepare for use, print and laminate all the pages. The aim of this activity is for children
to build a pattern following the example from one of the cards. They then need to decide
which picture goes in the empty square to complete the pattern.

17. Spring sorting (3 sets: 2D/3D shapes, shapes with/without corners, insects that
fly/crawl)
Print, laminate and cut out the pieces. The aim is for children to sort the cards to the
correct sorting mats.

18. How a carrot grows sequencing

Children place the picture cards in order to show the growth process of a carrot.

19. Spring positional words

Children read the sentences on each card, then clip a clothes pin on the correct positional
word to make the sentence true.

Happy Teaching :)
