1. I thought the virtual career was great! I have been to in person career fairs so for this one
being held remotely I thought it was a success. I was curious on how the fair would play
out considering it was one zoom link with a bunch of people registering.
2. I chose two employers I thought would be flexible for students, First National Bank and
Quick Trip. I gained information about which kind of positions these employers offer
towards students looking for a part time position. Quick Trip offered part time cashier
positions and even possibly an assistant manager position. While First National Bank
3. I wanted to speak with the ‘Olsson’ group although I did not have the change. I would be
interested in getting a job with them considering they are an engineering firm. Besides
that, I would be interested in being a bank teller if I ever decided to go down the financial
path of education.
4. I believe these types of events are successful and very useful for anyone at any age.
College students especially are always looking for internships or a job. This type of
activity is great because it allows students or others to reach out to many employers in
one social event. This enhances the chance you would get an interview or be hired. I
would attend this type of event again without a doubt, these events are great for
networking.
5. Obviously with COVID, you can’t gather in person on campus, so I believe that with the
given circumstances this event was thoroughly though out and planned well. My
recommendation for students would be that regardless if you have a job or do not, a
career fair can set the stones for a potential future job they might enjoy. As I mentioned,
these types of events are great for networking and increase the likelihood of an employer
hiring them.
6. I wish I had a resume copy in front of me, that would have been advantageous on my
behalf. Having that copy would be able to enlighten the employer on whether or not I fit
the description of what type of employee they are looking for. Secondly, I would want to
go into the career with a better understanding of which jobs I would like and or who I
would want an internship with. I hope to have another opportunity and learn from this.
