    SURGICAL TERMS

    1. Adenoidectomy: excision of the adenoids.


    2. Bronchoplasty: surgical repair of a bronchus.
    3. Laryngectomy: excision of the larynx.
    4. Laryngocentesis: surgical puncture of the larynx to aspirate fluid.
    5. Laryngoplasty: surgical repair of the larynx.
    6. Laryngostomy: creation of an artificial opening into the larynx.
    7. Laryngotracheotomy: incision of the larynx and trachea.
    8. Lobectomy: excision of a lobe of the lung.
    9. Pleurocentesis: surgical puncture to aspirate fluid from pleural space.
    10. Pleuropexy: surgical fixation of the pleura.
    11. Pneumobronchotomy: incision of lung and bronchus.
    12. Pneumonectomy: excision of a lung.
    13. Rhinoplasty: surgical repair of the nose.
    14. Septoplasty: surgical repair of the (nasal) septum.
    15. Septotomy: incision into the (nasal) septum.
    16. Sinusotomy: incision of a sinus.
    17. Thoracocentesis: surgical puncture of chest cavity to aspirate fluid.
    18. Thoracotomy: incision into the chest cavity.
    19. Tonsillectomy: excision of the tonsils.
    20. Tracheoplasty: surgical repair of the trachea.
