EXERCISE NO.

1. Discuss your own interpretation of the flow of offenders through the

criminal justice system.

- The person who committed crime will be reported to the police and the police
will arrest for the reported crime and will have a formal accusation and
detection and ffter a criminal defendant is convicted or pleads guilty, a judge
will decide on the appropriate punishment during the sentencing phase of a
criminal case. A sentence may include fines, incarceration, probation,
suspended sentence, restitution, community service, and participation in
rehabilitation programs. You will be in jail for awaiting a trial and will be in
prison for serious crimes.

2. Discuss the difference between American Justice System to the

Philippine Criminal Justice System and who among the two is better and
why?

- The American Justice System is to deliver “justice for all.” This means
protecting the innocent, convicting criminals, and providing a fair justice
process to help keep order across the country. In other words, it keeps our
citizens safe while in Philippine Criminal Justice System is serve to maintain
peace and order. These institutions are responsible for preventing crimes,
enforcement of laws, and apprehension and prosecution of those who violate
the law. Among the two, for me the American Justice System is better the
Philippine Criminal Justice System because they really give justice for those
innocent people unlike her in the Philippines giving peace and order especially
justice is too difficult to achieve.

3. Define Mala in se and Mala Prohibita and differentiate the two.

- Mala in se, a Latin phrase, refers to crimes such as murder, rape, and theft.
These contrast with mala prohibita offenses, which are actions that are
considered wrong because they violate the law, not because they are morally
wrong.
4. Research and discuss some legal principles or maxims regarding a
crime or criminal act.

5. How is criminology different from criminal justice system.

- Criminal justice studies the system itself, whereas criminology studies the
motivations and reasons why people turn to crime, as well as how to correct
their behavior.
