Safety Precautions

1. Meaning of Signal Words

ln this manual, the signal words DANGER, WARNING, and CAUTION are used to indicate
safety and other important instructions. The signal words and their meanings are defined as follows.
Please understand their meanings clearly before reading this manual. -

Signal word Meaning

ADANGER indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided,

will result in death or serious injury.

AWARNING Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided,

could result in death or serious injury.

A- CAUTION Indicates a potentially hazardous situation

may result in minor or moderate injury.

In addition to the above, the signal word NOTE is used to indicate other important information.

2. Safety Precautions
When servicing this system, observe the precautions described below to ensure safety of the operator
and service personnel.

AWARNING: 1. Before connecting the power cable, be sure to turn OFF the breaker of
the power distribution board of the facility. Otherwise, death or serious
injury caused by an electric shock may result.

2. Post a sign reading “INSPECTION IN PROGRESS” on the entrance of the

radiographic room during work to make people outside the room aware
that work is in progress and thereby avoid endangering them.

3. Be sure to inform co-workers before turning ON the power of the

distribution board and system.

4. Do not operate this system in an atmosphere containing flammable

gases such as anesthetics or flammable liquids such as ethanol
because a fire or explosion may ensue.

5. When it is necessary to work on the interior of the system to replace

parts, connect measuring instruments, etc., turn OFF the breaker of the
facility and the system power and wait for at least 5 minutes before
starting work in order to prevent electric shock.

3. Do not spill or spray disinfectant, detergent, or water on the system or on the

floor.

Wipe sections which require disinfection or cleaning using a soft cloth that
has been soaked in disinfectant or detergent and thoroughly wrung out. If
liquid enters the system or cable pit, a malfunction or accident may occur.

4. Wear a safety helmet and safety shoes during work.

When working in high places, wear a safety helmet and use a stable
stepladder.

5. Take all required precautions to prevent electric shock. If the power of the
system is turned ON with the cover of the system removed, do not touch
sections to which power is supplied.

6. When moving the system, be sure to check the following points.

Confirm that there are no persons or obstacles (such as a carrying-in jigs or

other units) behind the system.

Confirm that no tools are placed on the system.

7. Exercise extreme care to ensure safety, because heavy units must be

handled. Do not allow a person to carry an object weighing more than 20 kg.

8. The use of radio-wave-emitting devices near this kind of medical electronic

equipment may cause the equipment to malfunction. Do not bring in or use
devices which generate radio waves, such as cellular telephones,
transceivers, and radio-controlled toys, within the room where the equipment
is installed.

CAUTION: 1. Route the low-voltage power cable and the signal cable separately.

2. During carrying-in, be careful not to subject the system to excessive shock or vibration.

3. The removed covers and other items must be stored in a safe place so that they do not
fail over or become damaged.

1. SCOPE

This service manual describes the operating principles of the system and the repair and adjustment
procedures for the Bucky table DTBT-1 OA.

2. PRECAUTIONS DURING WORK

To ensure that inspection and adjustment work are performed safely and efficiently, observe the
following points.

(1) Personnel required

When performing service work, it is necessary to handle large units. Therefore, the following
personnel are required so that safety can be ensured.

(2) Arrangement

(a) Before starting work, carefully review all work contents and procedures with co-workers.

(b) During work, post an appropriate sign depending on the work that is being performed.
Store removed covers in a safe location.

(3) Warning

(a) During work, pay attention to the activities of all co-workers and immediately give a
warning if any worker acts without considering safety.

(b) When turning ON/OFF the power supply during work, be sure to inform co-workers and
receive confirmation from them.

7. ADJUSTMENT/REPAIR PROCEDURES

7.1 Adjustment of X-ray Exposure Timing

To change the X-ray exposure timing according to the X-ray high-voltage generator and grid used
in combination, adjust the microswitch position in the Bucky device.

7.2 Repair of the Mechanical Section
