using your preferred search engine. Use different related key words so that
you will be able to gather a lot of information about the topic.

Type inside the box, the keyword(s) you have chosen on the search
engine interface and click the Search button or the Return key. Now, write
the information you have gathered about the topic chosen on the box below.

7
Let Us Remember

These are the important things to remember!

Electronic search engines make information easier to find on the

internet.

How to search the Web

 There are many different search engines you can use, but some of
the most popular include Google, Yahoo!, and Bing. To perform a
search, you'll need to navigate to a search engine in your web
browser, type one or more keywords-also known as search terms,
then press Enter on your keyboard.

 After you run a search, you'll see a list of relevant websites that
match your search terms. These are commonly known as search
results. If you see a site that looks interesting, you can click a
link to open it. If the site doesn't have what you need, you can
simply return to the results page to look for more options.

 Most browsers also allow you to perform a web search directly

from your address bar, although some have a separate search
bar next to the address bar. Simply type your search terms and
press Enter to run the search.

8
Let Us Assess

Be Specific. Now, you are going to make your search more specific.
The list of topics is given below, but now expanded with a more specific sub-
topic.

Sub-topics were suggested to be used, but you should decide whether

or not to use these words as key words or whether to choose your own.

 Love Experience

 Travel Goals

 Music on the mobile phones

 Tips of Healthy Lifestyle

9
Answer the following questions.

1. How many results have been returned to you as a result of adding

more key words?

2. Is this more or fewer than were returned in the general search?

10
Let Us Enhance

Finding Updates. Do a search using the same keywords

with Yahoo!, Google and Bing. Compare the differences in the search
results for each one. Now, try the search again using different
keywords and compare the results. Answer the following questions.

1. What are some of the search tools that you can use to find
information?

_________________________________________________________________

2. Which ones do you currently use? Which do you prefer and why?

engines. The benefit of search engines dominates the individuals and
society. These engines are indispensable in finding online information
that has become essential to the private, social, and professional lives
of many individuals.

Nowadays, people use search engines to locate and then access

information on websites in a variety of areas such as health, business,
government, education, entertainment, news, religion, and
