DO YOU JUST BELONG?

Are you an active member, the kind that would be missed?

Or are you just contented that your name is on the list?
Do you attend the meetings and mingle with the flock?
Or do you stay at home and criticize and knock?
Do you ever go to visit a member who is sick?
Or leave the work to just a few and talk about the clique?
There’s quite a program scheduled that I’m sure you’ve heard about,
And we will all appreciate it if you’ll come and help us out.
So come to the meetings often and help with hand and heart.
Don’t just be a member, dig in, and do your part.
Think this over, member, you know right from wrong.
Are you just a member or do you just belong?

BEGINNING FAMILY HISTORY ON-LINE: A TOTAL SUCCESS!

The Beginning Family History On-Line Workshop was held on Saturday, October 30 at the Church of St.
Michael and St. George. The workshop began at 9:00 am with a cheerful, informative, early morning welcome
from Chapter Regent, Maripat Monterubio, of the sponsoring St. Louis-Jefferson Chapter.
With Chapter Historian, Peggy Strelinger, facilitating the
workshop, Chapter Registrar, Gail Grich, lead the first session with a
presentation on State and County Vital Records available on-line. The
second session was presented by Nancy Von Behren, a St. Louis-
Jefferson member, who has completed several DAR Lineage Classes. Her
presentation covered what a
“proof” is and how to “cite”
it.
A simple and delicious
lunch was served where all
attendees could meet each
other and network. The DVD “Todayʼs DAR” was shown and the
day concluded with a hands-on experience demonstrating how to
locate and research family history books, US and county history
