TITLE OF ACTIVITY Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Training
VENUE/LOCATION One Tagaytay, Tagaytay City DATE(S) April 2,2019 BACKGROUND The RDRRMC IV-A, thru the OCD IV-A that are designed to increase the DRRM awareness of the whole of society, including the communities, and strengthen their capacities. Specifically, the communities are broken down into 14 basic sectors as derived from the classification of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) OBJECTIVE(S) 1.Discuss the overview of the Philippine DRRM System, with emphasis on the salient points of RA 10121; 2.Describe the different hazards (Natural and Human Induced) surrounding the Philippines, their types, causes, and effects; 3. Discuss DRRM tools and efforts. ATTENDEES 40 persons from the Cooperative sector in CALABARZON FUNDING SOURCE OCD IV-A Regular Fund – DRRM HIGHLIGHTS Activity started with Invocation and Singing of Philippine National Anthem. Mr. Randy N. De La Paz, Chief of CBTS, welcomed the participant in behalf of the Chair of RDRRMC IV-A. The topics discussed were: Module 1: Hydro-meteorological Hazards Different weather systems and Hydro-meteorological hazards and mitigation concepts. Module 2: Geological Hazards Landslide hazards and mitigation concepts. Module 3: Philippine DRRM System Concepts of Hazards, Vulnerability, Exposure, Capability and Risk. Module 4: Human Induced Hazards Threats to security and susceptibility to extremism and civil strife ISSUES AND The participants were then given time for the open forum to CONCERNS address issues and concerns affecting their sector in relation to DRRM and its modalities.
