Hard work here becomes the evidence of personification because only human
pays something, not hard work. In meaning, hard work cannot be used to pay
for something. Hard work is only a non-living thing that is given a human
characteristic.

The non-living thing which is given human characteristics is the light. In these
two lines, light is used to guide and hold every memory. However, guiding and
holding something cannot be done by an inanimate object, such as light.
2. Hyperbole
a. It’s been a long day without you my friend
exaggeration because that time remains that it does not increase or decrease
b. Everything I went through you were standing there by my side, and now you
gonna be with me for the last ride.
These lines show loyalty because they are always together in any situation.
The songwriter does not directly express the idea but using those figurative
languages, so the other people are able to understand the meaning beyond the
literal ones.

The song tells the story of Phineas Taylor Barnum or P. T Barnum who is very
ambitious to change his future. In the film, Barnum shows his belief that working hard

Dreams are things that can only be felt state of sleep. What is meant
here is dreams are hopes that are being pursued by someone
3. Simile
a. Through where no one’s been before but it feels like home
It has an expression using the word “like” followed by the word “home”
as a parable. The meaning of the word “home” from the sentences, the
house is the most comfortable place, the comfort of its owner
