Features of DVAS
New coolant hole geometry & “TRI-Cooling” technology
New XR web thinning
The new TRI-cooling technology for small diameter drills Excellent chip evacuation & Low cutting resistance
increases a coolant discharge rate more than double of the
conventional drills. This significantly improves chip The XR web-thinning curls chips and controls the
evacuation and removes cutting heat, resulting in longer tool chip flow in proper direction, thereby reducing
life. cutting force and increasing chip breaking
performance.
The enlarged coolant hole reliably supplies coolant

a cutting equipment that is difficult to supply Due to low cutting resistance, long tool life can be
sufficient coolant. *DC ≥ 1mm expected even in high-efficiency drilling, and high-
precision drilling is possible.
【Effectiveness】
Since the chip evacuation is improved, not only preventing
chip jamming but also high efficiency drilling is possible
from
shallow to deep hole applications.

Features of DVAS

Tough and unique geometry with low helix angle

The short drill is designed for high rigidity and good chip
evacuation by minimizing the neck length.
A chip discharge area is provided over the taper part,
increasing the tool rigidity by 20% more than the
conventional model as well as improving the hole
position accuracy.
*L/D = 2,7,12 only

【Effectiveness】
The highly-rigid DVAS short drill can make a high
precision hole from the process of the pilot hole drilling,
leading to high precision drilling in the deep hole drilling
process.

Product feature summary

✓ The size lineup of standard items is up to L/D = 50.

✓ Drilling efficiency can be remarkably increased due to high fracture

resistance, improved by the new cutting edge geometry, and low cutting
resistance, realized by the new XR web thinning.

✓ The TRI-cooling technology is used to increase a coolant discharge rate,

which works well even with low coolant pressure equipment.
It is also user-friendly with no need to use a fine filtration.

✓ The use of DP1120 decelerates the cutting edge damage progress.

✓ It uses new technologies such as TRI-Cooling, new honing and XR web

thinning to prevent chip jamming.

✓ The short drills (L/D=2,7,12) are adopting the high rigidity design,
offering excellent hole position accuracy. Additionally, all small diameter
drills have a guide pad as the MHS drill has, which is 4-contant points but
narrower than that of MHS to prevent excessive vanishing.

Damage on DVAS was small but the chip tended to elongate. For
better chip breaking, it is necessary to consider of vibration

a sharp cutting edge, performed well in chip breaking, adopting
the sharp cutting edge maybe effective for a special product.
