MPV & PV Installation Instructions

1. Cut the correct sized opening in the risk structure in line with current building regulations. The opening sizes are detailed on the
product data sheet and below. It is best to wait for the unit to arrive before cutting any opening in walls. This is to prevent the
opening being cut the incorrect size.
2. Fit the external wall sleeve first. If the centre wall sleeve is required slide this into the opening and then fit the outer wall
sleeve. Use intumescent sealant to seal around the outer flange and the wall and between the centre wall sleeve and outer wall
sleeve.

3. If the MPV vent is to be used with Chemical Suppression Agents, the screw on the bottom of the vent labelled “Remove this
screw for two-way operation” must be removed.

4. From within the risk, slide the pressure vent into the opening so that the body of the pressure vent fits within the wall sleeves.

5. Using suitable fixings to meet the requirements of the structure of the wall and the fire rating. Either drill the wall or screw the
fixings into the wall and then using the pre-drilled holes, screw the flange to the wall. Do not over tighten the screws as this
may distort the flange.

6. Then run some intumescent sealant around the edge of the PRV flange and wall joint to seal the unit to the wall. Fire rated
foam product may be used to fill the gaps between the pressure vent and the wall opening where required.

7. Finally make sure that the pressure vent blades fully open and close freely by pushing each blade open and letting it close fully.
