THE MAGNETIC QUANTUM NUMBER (mI)

This quantum number which is denoted by mI refers to the different
orientations of electron cloud in a particular sub-shell.
These different orientations are called Orbitals.

number, n = 3 ?

THE SPIN QUANTUM NUMBER (ms)

This quantum number determines the orientation of spin.
The spin quantum number can have only two values which are + ½ and – ½.
The + ½ value indicates clockwise spin (generally represented by an arrow
pointing upwards, i.e.,) and the other indicates anti-clockwise spin (generally
represented by an arrow pointing downwards i.e., ).
The maximum number of electrons that can be accommodated is f-shell
