Vision of NNCC

The vision of NNCC strives to be a vibrant Christ-centred community by providing Biblically


integrated education to train, equip and send throughout the world for the extension of the
kingdom of our God to fulfil the great commission (2 Timothy 2:2; Matthew 19:28, 29)

Mission of NNCC

NNCC Exists to train, Equip and send followers of Christ to transform culture/society with
the Truth of God’s Word for God’s Glory. For which, NNCC aims in equipping men and
women for Christ-centre ministry by training them to spiritually and academically qualified
for teaching spiritual truth.

Synopsis of Evangelism and discipleship

1. Description of the course

“Evangelism and discipleship” are study on the continuation of God’s work on earth
through the people whom Christ redeemed with His blood on the Cross. Christ mission on
earth is seek and save that which are lost (Luke 19:10), which in returned commanded His
Church to continue the work of seeking and bring the lost to Christ as well as to train or
teach those save-sinner to be followers or students of Christ. Christ commanded His
Church a dual-work “to seek the lost as well as shepherd the save-sinner”. The work of
evangelism and discipleship comes under the perimeter of the Local Church missions.

2. Problem and Purpose of the course

Post-modern world which propagated the believe that “all human is natural good and are
not be judges on the basis of other belief and practices” as well as evangelicalism which
denies in the eternal punishment of the lost-sinner. The Church of this 21 st century seems
to concern only about their Church-membership as well as popularism within the society
by doing lots of social justice or social work failing to reach the world for Christ rather for
self-benefits. Revelation 2:4 “thou hast left thy first love”

The purpose of the course “evangelism and discipleship” is bringing out the primary
work of the early-Church which focuses on reaching the lost with the Gospel and those
who response to the Gospel were under the care and teaching of God’s Word. The main-
core purpose of the course is to challenge students or reader to examine once own failure
in God’s mission in returned to be motivated to involve in God’s mission of Evangelism
and discipleship. Mark 16:16 “go, preach the Gospel” Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore,
and disciple all nations”.

3. Aim and objective of the course


 To teach the students that mission (evangelism and Discipleship) is the main ministry
of the Christian which can be done at any place, time and under any circumstances.
 To assist the students in developing their Church into a mission mind-set and Ministry
Church.
 To motivate and build the students to have a mind-set of evangelism as well as to take
in the ministry of the Church.
 In all the teaching the students will understand that evangelism is the first requirement
in fulfilling the great commission.
 To teach the students various approach in evangelism dependence on the situation of
the hearers.
 To provide the students basic knowledge in how to present and defend the Christian
faith against common challenges, world religions, cults and the occult.
 To enable the students to answer contemporary moral and ethical issues from the
Bible.
 To enable student to understand and know that discipleship is the second requirement
in fulfilling the Great commission.
 To teach the student the urgent need of discipleship in the Church as well for one
whom new-converted.

 To train the students in the Biblical principle and practices of discipleship to help those
who are converted to reach maturity in Christ in returned evangelism will the outcome.

5. Scope and limitation of the course

This course will focus on “evangelism and discipleship in the context of Nepali” for
which during the course of the study, the subject will not focus on Evangelism in other
nations apart from Nepal. The study will focus mainly how Gospel can be presented to
Hindu as well as within once own community with a mixture of Christianity and other ethnic
religions. This course will not deal with the cross-cultural evangelism and discipleship.

6. Content of the subject

The course on “discipleship and Evangelism” will be divided into three main section
i.e. (1) definition and Biblical basis of “Evangelism and Discipleship” (2) Evangelism-
God means to witness the world for Jesus Christ through the Church. (3) the Church as
God’s instrument for establishing, multiplying and building up believers in the Faith.

6.1. Definition and Biblical basis of Evangelism and Discipleship

Objective of the section

 to let the students, understand and grasp the knowledge of Evangelism and
discipleship as taught in the Bible and follow by Our Saviour Jesus Christ
 to help the students understand the necessity of Evangelism and Discipleship in
Christian life as well as in Church-mission.
 to enlightened the students of the differentiation and relationship of Evangelism
and Discipleship in Church.

7. Course requirement

Class activities (20%): To attended or eligibility to secure this score are punctuality in
Classes, class notes, participation in Class discussions, and Q & A interaction with
teacher.

Memory verse quizzes (10%): eligibility to secure this score is memorizing all the given
Bible verse to memorize as well as to participate in all memory verse quizzes.

Reading Report (5%): Students are required to give a reading report of any books related
to “discipleship and evangelism”. With summary of the content of the book and details
of reading.

Assignment and paper presentation (15%): Students will be assigned to do two


assignments related to “how to share the Gospel” and “discipleship in light of Christ
Jesus”. Students will be required to do one group paper presentation with a group consists
of two members in each group on the topic, “how to encounter (current trends, issues,
belief) and present the Gospel of Christ Jesus”.
