WHAT IS IT?
1. There are many people who are not wearing a face shield, gloves, and face mask some of them are not
working and some of them have held hands they are not following the health protocol.
2. As I observe in the public area, there were still many people who do not yet follow the health protocol
of the government. Many of them put their face shields above their forehead, and when they talk they will
put their mask below their mouth.
3. Another thing that I have observed is the social distancing of many people in the public area, they do
not think about what will happen to them if they are closer than a 1-meter distance.

WHAT IS IT?
In the given situation below, the group of One Direction was being parodied by the group of boys that
wears matching outfits and prances and sing their song "Best Song Ever". The parody is being done by
singing very poorly and overly dramatically by the group of boys on stage.
WHAT IS IT?
2. The boy feels attracted to the girl because of her beauty, charm, smile and wit.
3. The boy is comparing the girl to Cleopatra My answer: For me the comparison of the guys is quite
positive but it depends on the person's feelings who is being compared to another.

WHAT IS IT?
The guy just may be saying that she is beautiful, smart, and attractive like Cleopatra, which for me is kind
of a compliment. But as I have mentioned it DEPENDS on the person's feeling. Every person has their
unique beauty and character. Comparison between a person makes us focus on other's lives and we might
compare ourselves negatively to them, which may break our self-confidence.

ASSESSMENT
1. In joking with a friend, you are parodying her gum-chewing habit by imitating and hyperbolizing it in a
comedic way.
2. This statement is an example of allusion to the Holy Bible. It is something that you'll find very often.
There is direct reference to the 'forbidden fruit' that Eve could not resist. In general terms, it's about
something that may be very nice, but for some reason should not be linked with.
3. This is another allusion to the Bible, in which the Garden of Eden has been used as a base of
comparison. The backyard is said to be transformed into something as beautiful and enchanting as the
Garden of Eden.

WHAT'S MORE
Since the election of Rodrigo Duterte to President of the Philippines, the Philippine National Police has
waged an unrelenting war against drug crime that cost the lives of thousands of suspects. A spatial and
temporal analysis of the past 30 months suggests that violence is slowly receding. While the situation is
still highly problematic, a number of positive developments suggest that in an increasing number of
provinces police violence is slowly returning to its pre-Duterte levels. While the master-key for ending
the killings lies with the central government, provincial governments can do their share to mitigate the
deadly repercussions of the Duterte government’s drug war.

On July 1, 2016 Duterte was inaugurated as President of the Philippines. At the very same day he set in
motion a campaign against drug crime that resulted in the killing of several thousand suspects by the
police in so-called legitimate encounters. Here I want to take a closer look at the development of fatal
police violence after two and a half years. I argue that the police killings of suspects came in three distinct
waves, that each of these was at a lower level than the preceding one and that this violence has been
concentrated in a small number of regions and sub-regional units (provinces and cities). A comparison
with pre-Duterte data on police use of deadly force shows that this violence is highly path-dependent. It
also becomes visible that in the course of the campaign a shift occurred away from the National Capital
Region (NCR) towards directly adjacent regions of the NCR and to a lesser extent to the Visayas in the
middle and Mindanao in the South of the Philippines. Finally, I argue that macro trends tend to obscure
huge temporal and spatial variation at the provincial level, which suggests that provincial governors can
exert significant influence on police behavior and killing-ratios either to the better or the worse.

LESSON 5

WHAT IS IT?
1. God stood up from his throne with all his majesty and rewarded that the little blade of grass .God said
you are best amongst all stood before god.
2. What did you do?
3. One ought to humble and sorry that's why the author say that each one the blades of grass started
relating their sensible deeds where as one blade created a confession of his sins and felt ashame of what
he had exhausted this world.
4. God asked without any delay from the little blade of grass about his good and bad deeds that he had
done when he was alive. The little blade of grass replied that he did not remember if he had done any
good deed. God was pleased with His answer and God in all His Majesty stood up from His thrown and
blessed him.
5. Relate about their deeds and actions impatiently and excitedly but one little blade of grass kept quiet
and stood behind others because of shame
6. Allah pleased only with that little blade of grass who stood a side because she was ashamed of her
actions. Allah said with all His majesty, you are the best amongst all. Explanation: In these lines, the poet
says that all the creatures of God have been given wisdom to differentiate between good and bad deeds.
7. ashamed of what he had done in this world.
8. Little blades of grass
9. Think that “the Blades of grass” in this poem is referring to the people in the world.
10.Small farm

WHAT IS IT?
1. How does the tittle "Ang pagpa-Milling means? How dou you know? What is the textual evidence that
supports your answer?
l believe Ang Pagpa-milling means is a rotating tool that can help to mill the gold and the rice at the farm
when it is harvest. The textual evidence is Ang kahirapan ng mahihirap because I believe the poem says
how hard to be in the life of poverty. To find gold is dangerous and to plant rice is exhausted because
sometimes it is lucky for you to harvest plenty of rice, often planting palay cannot grow successfully and
may fail because of various causes and die.Additionally rice farming takes time to grow.
2. What is the setting of the poem? What is the textual evidence that supports your annwer?
Farm and River. Because the poem says that gold is found “sa kasubaan“ which means river and the
“humay” we can only found rice at the farm.
3. Is this source of income/living easy? Why or Why not? What stanza that shows the textual evidence
that support your answer?
No, I've seen people in poverty working in finding gold and farm yet still suffering in poverty. The stanza
that shows the textual evidence in my answer is “ ug ibaligya para ipalit sa bugas og sud-an” | believe that
this words represent that people living in poverty their one priority is food to survive but when people are
rich I believe they must say “to purchase what they want” or I rather say “ug ibaligya para ipalit sa akong
mga gusto”.
4. How is pagpa-milling similar from the planting rice? What is the textual evidence that support your
answer?
Pagpa-milling is similar from the planting rice it is because rice need milling process to separate the some
of husk ,bran layers and to clean the rice.Just like the gold to find the gold we must do milling process
because the gold may coverd by the sand.
5. What is the meaning of "dakong balay" in stanza 6?
Malaking bahay gaya ng mansion. Ang Dakong balay ay isang historical marker. NHCP historical marker
for the Don Florencio Noel House. But in other perspective of “dakong bahay” mean heaven” because the
last stanza also says “kay kini dili man pweding mag pirmi” which means our life is temporary and if we
die we only know heaven and hell.“ kay ang dakong balay wala magtugot niini” for me it means the God
know that you don't deserve to be in suffer. God is unfair just to test our Faith in him.

WHAT IS IT?
1. To a dead Tree
2. In my own understanding, the author is helpless as a dead tree without bearing fruits in it.
3. The tone of the story is sad.
4. I can say that the author's personality is looking for something that can help him rise up again from his
problems. His message is all about a person who also had the same emotion as the author.
5. The poet is trying to convince the reader to always check out their friends because they will not know if
one of their friends suffered a lot of problems. It is an important message for me to know that I should do
what I need to do to save a person's life.
