Family Accessories

The Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise OmniSwitch® 6250 family is entering the end-of-sales product life cycle
effective December 31, 2021. Due to technology obsolescence, and to optimize supply chain operations as
the industry faces major component shortages, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise is now focused on delivering the
newest generation OmniSwitch 6465T family providing superior features and performance.

OmniSwitch 6250 family phase-out


The OmniSwitch 6250 model and related accessories listed in the table below are included in this End-of-Sale
notification announcement.

The following part numbers are entering the end-of-sales (EoS) process and will be moved to the Certified Spare
Parts section of the July 2021 Worldwide Price List (WWPL). These parts will continue to be orderable until
December 31, 2021, at which time they will be removed from the WWPL.

Final orders for the OmniSwitch 6250 models and related components listed in this table will be accepted
through December 31, 2021, or while inventory lasts.

Services offer
Support for the OmniSwitch 6250 family will follow our hardware and software support policy of five years from
the end-of-sales effective date (until December 31, 2026), or the expiration date of valid support agreements
for current customers, whichever comes last.

After this period, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise will no longer provide software and hardware support. If the original
device returned is not available, a replacement product will be shipped.

Replacement product
The OmniSwitch 6465 family is the recommended replacement product line for the OmniSwitch 6250. It is a full
Gigabit Ethernet platform bringing superior AOS 8.x software features and hardware performance, allowing for
an easy transition and future proof investment.

OmniSwitch 6465 replacement products for OmniSwitch 6250 are listed in the table above.

Q&A
The following are questions and answers associated with this OmniSwitch 6250 notification:

Q: What AOS software versions will be supported on the OmniSwitch 6250-8M?


A: AOS 6.7.2R04 is the last software version and will be sustained for the OmniSwitch 6250-8M
model for a period of five years after EoS announcement effective date.

Q: Are all recommended replacement products currently available?


A: Yes, the next-generation OmniSwitch 6465T-12 is readily available and has feature parity with
the OmniSwitch 6250-8M.

For your convenience, this eFlash will be available in French, German and Spanish on the Partner portal a few
days after publication in English. If there is a discrepancy between the English version and a translated version,
the English version shall prevail.
