It is extremely obvious that individuals should care about their health. First, people should
eat more nutritious food and avoid junk food. In the modern world, there are many people,
especially in the developed countries, who eat too much convenience food and fast food,
while not having enough vitamins essential to their body. This can lead to many serious health
problems such as cancer, obesity,... Second, it is significantly necessary to have a balanced
diet. You should have enough vitamins, fibre, protein, fat, and carbohydrate in your daily
intake. Some research has shown that eating 1-2 eggs a day can provide a huge amount of
protein needed for your body, but if you eat them too much and you do not eat enough other
substances, you will have a higher rate of heart disease by having too much protein. Last,
people should get rid of their sedentary lifestyle, they need to do workout more and be more
active. Because if you do not do exercise regularly, you might be overweight easily even if you
are having a healthy diet.
However, in my opinion, I think that governments play an important role in their citizens’
healthy diet. Because if people are ill, there will be fewer workers, so the productivity of the
country will be lower. Moreover, there will be more patients in hospitals, and this can lead to
an overload of people in medical centers, and a lack of facilities. In order to help people be
healthier, firstly, governments can raise public’s awareness by propagandizing, spreading
information, news, and blogs about the importance of health, and advising people to have a
balanced diet as well as do physical activities regularly. Secondly, more strict quality
verification of food companies is also needed. Food companies should reduce producing
convenience food or wholefood, and start making some organic or vegan products. They also
need to print the nutrition facts on the product so that consumers may know the substances in
the food, so they can consider how much they can eat.
In conclusion, I think that both individuals and governments are responsible for people’s
health and diet.
