TRIADS
with Mnemonics
for medical students
by
Dr Naveen Koval
1
Be the light…..and keep on shining…
So that those around us would see their goals clearly..
So that those following us would overcome
the obstacles that we stumbled upon………
Life is a beautiful journey ….
It’s not a competition……
So let’s learn,share & help each other…

-Dr Naveen Koval

2
It was one of my dreams to compile all triads together
with mnemonics and standard references &
I am happy that today I have completed it…
So this pdf contains all the triads that I have collected
over the past 13 years through various sources
(teachers,books,friends,lectures,students and internet ).

In this pdf I have included only those triads for which

I could find the standard references ,to make it authentic
and reliable..
During the process of making this I had gone through
hundreds of journals&books…
Sometimes for a single triad I had to go through
multiple references just to make sure that what I have
written is not a wrong piece of information..
So please make use of this book..
I am giving it for free because I would prefer to see
more students reading this & gaining knowledge…
I am sure your knowledge about different triads will
help you all to become better doctors….
All the best….

A pic from my notebook of triads&eponyms -Dr Naveen Koval

Fact check:
MNEMONICS are NOT short cuts to overcome logical reasoning &
understanding of concepts like most of us think..
Mnemonics are organized & structured notes that help you learn faster,
retain longer & recall better..
Mnemonics are helping tools that make a subject easier and interesting…
So my advice to all my students is that never make a mnemonic
unless you understand the concept behind a particular topic….
So make mnemonics only if:
1.You are reading a non conceptual fact…
2.You have learnt the concept and want to recall it better during exams

known as Schmid's triad, and is associated with a poor prognosis.
