INTRODUCTION TO DIGITISATION :-
5. Digitise all the districts and save them with the sr. no. and their
names.
6. Similarly digitize all other districts and save them accordingly.
1.To create a Layout for the map click new print Layout.
2.Add MAP .
3.Add TITLE.
4.Add FRAME.
5.Add GRID.
6.Add SCALE.
7.Add LEGEND.
8.Add NORTH ARROW.
ANALYSIS : -
Absolute Location of State Capital of Uttarakhand i.e. Dehradun.
Latitude = 30.316496 N
Longitude = 78.032188 E
Relative Location of State Capital of Uttarakhand i.e. Dehradun.
Uttarakhand , formerly Uttaranchal, state of India, located in the
northwestern part of the country. It is bordered to the northwest by the
Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, to the northeast by
the Tibet autonomous Region of China, to the southeast by Nepal, and
to the south and southwest by the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh . Its
capital is the northwestern city of Dehra Dun.
Uttarakhand lies on the southern slope of the Himalaya range, and the
climate and vegetation vary greatly with elevation, from glaciers at the
highest elevations to tropical forests at the lower elevations.
CONCLUSION : -
A very important aspect of digitisation is the accuracy of the
digitised products. Spatial accuracy of the features depicted on the
map is very important for a good GIS database.
Digitisation in a different projection system results in inaccurate
placement of features such that the map and the digitised image do
not overlap each other.
Digitisation results in tracing the map or other analogue feature
into digital form in which each feature has a proper locational
identity.
After these preliminary steps, the features on the map are traced
out using the puck in the form of points, lines and polygons with
each feature having the correct geographic location.
The process of converting an analogue map into a digital format is
known as “Digitisation”.
