    Procedure MDT feature activation and OSSii

    log collection on LTE Huawei Network

    Activity description and scope

    Scope of these slide is to define the procedure for MDT feature activation and tracing log collection for LTE
    Hauwei in OSSii format. Output file in SIG. and LOG.

    The process is divided in the following step:

    1) Trace Server identification for traced eNBs


    2) Measurements Activation on eNBs
    3) Feature activation and Parameter set
    4) Activation of OSSii format conversion
    5) Log collection for pre processing with Nokia Parser

    Requirements:
    - Availability of license for Independent MDT feature activation
    - License for OSSii conversion

    Phase 1 – Trace Server identification for traced eNBs
    In this phase the IP address of specific Trace Server according to traced eNBs is identified

    Step 1 : In U2000 Manager select

    Once selected the eNBs to trace it is possible to identify the IP address of related TRACE SERVER

    Step 2 : Select eNBs to trace and verify for these eNBs the IP
    Address of Trace Server ( in this example 113.208.10.22)

    Phase 2 – Measurements Activation on eNBs

    From the GUI of U2000 open the MML command window linked to eNBs to trace and send the following
    command lines:

    • MOD GLOBALPROCSWITCH:PRIVATEMDTUESELSWITCH=ON; ->Measurements MDT Activation is put to


    ON
    • ADD TCEIPMAPPING:TCEID=0,IPMODE=IPv4,TCEIPV4ADDR=“XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX”; -IP ADDRESS of Trace
    Server -> MDT measurements are sent to TRACE SERVER according to IP ADDRESS identified in previous
    step

    Phase 3 – Measurements Activation on eNBs
    After activation of MDT measurement on correct TRACE SERVER it is necessary to change parameter set of
    MDT feature according to suggested set for correct tracing

    Step 1 : sect signalling Trace Management


    Step 2 :from cell trace you can modify parameter set according to
    following table

    Phase 4 – Activation of OSSii format conversion
    It is now possible activate OSSii Conversion

    Step 1 : select TraceServer/LTE Common Trace Server NBI


    Step 2 : select eNBs to be traced

    Step 3 : once selcted the eNBs you have to modify again parameter set according to previous values

    Phase 5 – Log collection for pre processing with Parser

    On Trace Server identified in phase 1 you can access to following directories ( these are the standard
    directories, but the path can be different in case of specific customization)

    for SIG file:


    • /export/home/sysm/export/home/omc/var/fileint/TSNBI/LTE_CELL_TRC/20180523/TI01T

    For LOG files :

    • /export/home/sysm/export/home/omc/var/fileint/TSNBI/LTE_SIG

    Both files are mandatory for Nokia parser import process

    The file can be processed by Nokia Parser
