ABSTRACT
Being a major platform for women rights since 1986, Aurat Foundation has advocated
for all problems of women, from political injustice to domestic violence and It continues
to do so. The goals and vision are thoroughly fruitful for women but the proper
campaigning Is lacking in rural areas.

INTRODUCTION
Aurat Foundation is a women’s rights organization based in Islamabad, Pakistan. It does
active lobbying and advocacy on behalf of women. It also holds demonstrations and public-
awareness campaigns to make them aware of the problems that women face in everyday life.
HISTORY
Established in 1986, as a national, non-profit, non-governmental organization under the
Societies' Registration Act 1860, Aurat Publication and Information Service Foundation (Aurat
Foundation/AF) is committed to create widespread awareness and commitment. Over the last
30 years, Aurat Foundation has come to be recognized nationally and internationally as one of
the leading institutions creating, facilitating and strengthening women as a whole.

 Assist women to acquire greater control over knowledge, resources and institutions.
 Influence social attitudes and behavior for a sensitive and responsive social environment
to address women's concerns and development.
 Develop a strong network of civil society organizations to support women at the
community and district level.
 Facilitate women's greater participation in political processes and governance.
 Develop and strengthen networks of citizens' organizations for strengthening citizens'
struggle for accountable and transparent governance and participatory democracy in
Pakistan.

WORK OF NGO
Ending Violence Against Women And Girls:
Ending violence against women and girls is critical for creating an enabling environment
for women. Aurat Foundation advocates and undertakes measures such as policy
reform and positive legislation for elimination of violence against women.
Women’s Political Empowerment.
This remains a key area of interventions and includes specific inputs in political
education and activism to ensure women's involvement in defining their political and
social environment. Interventions include seminars, public meetings and dissemination
of information.
Access To Justice & Legal Rights.

Aurat Foundation sees great significance in approaching formal systems and structures
of law and justice to ensure equality of rights and status for women. Special focus is
given to maginalised and disadvantaged segments in society due to the difficulties
associated with being able to approach and use these structures to attain justice.
SUGGESTIONS
The NGO supports a great cause and Is a major platform for women of Pakistan to put
forward their problems, but I’d personally suggest that the awareness Is still lacking In
women of Pakistan about It, especially In rural areas. Proper campaigning of this NGO,
and a widespread reach could be more helpful for all of us.

CONCLUSION
Aurat Foundation acts as a catalyst to enable critical groups to influence policy,
legislation and programmes for greater economic and political power for women in
society. In advocacy on women's rights issues, Aurat Foundation has strategized to
develop linkages with grassroots organizations and macro-level decision-makers
