I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standard: The learners demonstrate an understanding of states, nations and globalization.

B. Performance Standard: The learners shall be able to identify the relationship among nations and states
in the context of globalization.

C. Learning Competencies:
The learner:
a. Define nation and state. (HUMSS_PG12-Ie-15)
b. Differentiate nation from state. (HUMSS_PG12-Ie-16)
c. Explain meaning of globalization. (HUMSS_PG12-Ie-17)

A. Preliminaries: Greetings

Introduction to Core Competency

B. Engage (Establishing a purpose for the lesson)

1. The teacher will ask the students if the countries Philippines and United State of America
is a nation or a state.
2. The students will define what is a nation and a state.

C. Explore (Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson)


1. The teacher will present images of a flag or symbols of an organization of nation and state.
The students will think and identify if the flags or symbols are a nation or a state.

D. Explain (Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills)

1. The teacher will explain and differentiates the Nation and State with the use of illustrations.

2. The teacher will discuss globalization and how it influences the nation-state by presenting
images and examples.

E. Elaborate (Developing Mastery; Finding practical applications of the concepts, and


Generalizing and abstractions about the lesson.)

1. The teacher will show more examples representing the nations, states and globalization
using real life situations.

F. Evaluate (Evaluating Learning)

1. The students will be given an activity from the modules for them to answer to evaluate their
understanding pertaining to the topic. The selected activities are reflect on module 4,’What
I know’ page 5, ‘What’s in’ page 7, ‘What’s More’ pages 13, ‘What I have learned’ page
14 and ‘What I can do’ page 15. The submission of answers will be given during the
schedule of retrieval of modules.
