    In-situ(at Position) servicing/Overhauling Inspection procedure for Gate/Globe valves

    1. SUBJECT: In-situ(at position) Servicing/Overhauling Inspection procedure for Gate/Globe valves

    2. MATERIAL :-

    3. CONSUMABLES REQUIRED:
    N/A.

    4. PROCEDURE:
    1. Dismantle the Yoke including the hand wheel/Gear box assembly of the valve and remove the
    entire old gland packing rings. In case of motor operated valves, remove motor along with the actuator
    and place the same on suitable platform
    2. Remove the lock nut of the bonnet and remove the top flange, remove the 4 split rings, retainer
    ring and guide pipe
    3. Remove the bonnet and the pressure seal ring by jacking the bonnet using the yoke.
    4. Checking of valve body and valve seat,
    5. Check straightness of Valve stem/Spindle,
    6. DP Testing of valve seat/spindle and other critical parts for checking of surface cracks as per site
    requirement.
    7. If any surface cracks detects, necessary grinding/machining on that part up to root level to remove
    the cracks.
    8. Ensure the lapping of mating faces(body, seat) to achieve the 100% blue matching
    9. Check coarse grain lapping compound to be used.
    10. Ensure lapping of bonnet seal ring with new seal ring to get 100% blue matching
    11. Ensure contact area by blue matching,
    10 Final DP Testing of valve seat other parts
    11 New gland studs & gland collars are to be fitted
    12 All new gland packing are to be filled properly up to required quantity in correct manner to avoid
    leaking problem on later stage
