Statement of Purpose

My name is ABC. I am from Pakistan. I would like to explain my career till now, I always fancied
myself with Computers right from my childhood and thought of becoming a Software Engineer
got implanted in my mind at an early age. A career in Engineering seemed the most challenging
and logical extension of my abilities. I was given training in the basics of the operation and the
applications of the computers during my school days. From that day onwards until the 10th
standard I was constantly being taught different concepts of computer in different levels. The
various concepts that I am thorough with, in school, are Microsoft Word, Internet usage and C
Fundamentals. Science has been my favorable subject right from my school days and has always
been one among the toppers of my class. I have even represented my school in many
competitions. I have been the member of the quiz team of our school that has won many
competitions.

After my higher secondary I was determined to secure for myself a position in the Information
Technology field, which deals with the areas of Computers, Communications and Networks. To
accomplish this, I took admission in Undergraduate degree of BS in Software Engineering at. =, I
had the good fortune of having a well-compiled syllabus, which placed equal emphasis on
theoretical fundamentals as well as practical applications. Subjects such as Computer
organization, Digital Logic Design, Algorithms laid a solid foundation in the theoretical aspects of
the subjects. Practical application aspects were introduced to me through subjects such as Object
Oriented Programming concepts, Data Structures, Relational Database Management Systems,
Internet technologies and general software engineering.

After completing my degree of software engineering I worked for 3 months as an independent

developer. I was formally introduced to challenging task of software design and development. To
further enhance my skills and theoretical knowledge, I got admission in MS Software Engineering
in Riphah International University Islamabad. It is one of the most prestigious institutions in
Pakistan. Under the supervision of great scholars and well equipped labs, I was fortunate enough
to learn more and know the crux of software engineering as well as advance topics in software
engineering which proved to give me a path to become a software scientist.

During this period, I worked with quite a few firms on multiple positions and technologies. I
regarded each topic in the broad range of material covered in training as intrinsically interesting as
well as essential to my work in software development.

The areas which are of special interest to me are Information Engineering, Pure Software
Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Edge Computing, Big Data, and the use of computer in
Biological Sciences. I am also very good in the field of web designing, software requirement
gathering, UML modeling, System Designing and implementation.

My interest in Software Engineering began when I found myself great in development of

applications and enterprise systems. Although my overall graduate degree CGPA is 3.00/4.00 but
in the last year, I had an average of 3.8/4.00.

In my MS research, I have After finding myself fancied towards Azerbaijan and the quality of
Azerbaijani universities on the global scale, I started to browse and study about Azerbaijani
universities. The courses at UNIVERSITY OF BRUNEI DARUSSALAM have been designed to
give me insight into the world of academic and industrial computing research. By focusing on
several currently active areas it affords me the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of
the topics of the course and in doing so, to develop the skills necessary to carry out innovative
work within the discipline of computing.

I strongly believe that a software engineer should be instinctive, innovative, and quick to adapt
and adopt new technologies, which is only possible with solid foundation and profundity in
his/her subjects. This entails an insightful and thorough understanding of the intricacies of the
subject. That’s the reason why I am inclined towards Information Technology. I am sure that with
my interaction with the faculty and peers at UNIVERSITY OF BRUNEI DARUSSALAM will
provide an ambience conducive for my transition from a graduate to PhD degree holder. It is my
strong belief that graduation from this University will take me close to achieving my ultimate goal
of becoming an efficient software engineer. Going through your brochure and web pages, I feel

This is my academic and professional background for your kind consideration. Apart from my
extracurricular activities I am very fond of playing sports and playing games on computer. I am a
very good player of cricket and Badminton. I love to volunteer in social cause and to help the
needy.
Now the question arises that why I want to go to Azerbaijan. The simple answer is that Azerbaijan
is known as one of the best countries in field of Technology in the world. My first objective in
Azerbaijan is to learn high qualification regarding Computer Science, Software Development
and Information Technology and complete my PhD from a well-reputed university like
UNIVERSITY OF BRUNEI DARUSSALAM.

The new developments of Azerbaijan in the field of Technology will help me a lot to nourish my
career and it will be proved beneficial for both countries Pakistan and Azerbaijan. As a Pakistani,
I do know this thing very well that Azerbaijan is a very true and sincere friend of Pakistan. I will
be proved a great asset for the development of both the countries. Besides this, Azerbaijan has
also a very good relationship with my country. I like Azerbaijani culture very much. I always
wish to visit Azerbaijan and see the culture of Azerbaijani people as Azerbaijan has been a great
seat of civilizations and under these studies it’s a bright opportunity for me to get familiar with the
people of Azerbaijan and their culture.
