FUNDAMENTALS OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT
ASSIGNMENT #06 SECTION: “B”

1 How has Tim Aston handled these situations?

Phil Davies In his statement that what kind of organization people say is the approach, Phil
attempts to talk to Tim about the organizational culture, structure and organizational dynamics
present in the organization. He was also trying to say that people approach their work, and where
their priorities are lies, which is very important to understand that they behave in this way. In his
next statement, Tim ignored how people are asked to work in the company, and then complains
that people don't find or suggest that if they need help, it should probably be observed based on
Phil's initial statement that the project team is facing a problem and a skill problem There is no
and therefore problems need to be addressed in different ways.

Tim Aston had joined the company with great encouragement and desire and was confident in
the ability to supply what was expected of the role of a project manager. However, for a while,
he discovered that he was not able to encourage or convince his plan team to act in the best
interests of the project, and found that his views and applications were not fulfilled very
positively by employees. Various steps he was trying to reject suggestions for implementation
and improvement and is not supported by team or colleagues. For all these reasons, it dropped
the motivation level, which changed its approach of becoming the best project manager because
of it.

He has tried resolving the issue by trying to talk with the employees, but he did not seem to
develop a better communication, nor was he successful in motivating them. As mentioned, most
of the employees were quite old, and they were used to work according to their old culture, and
on their own terms, they were interested in other activities, but Tim was trying to make them
work on his conditions, he should have tried doing it as they like, and then guide them about the
modern changes.

2 Can the company help Tim?

The corporation should develop policies and establish laws for all, employees should have a
view and be directed to work to achieve them, and a plan should be prepared to make this

approach possible. Good communication between employees and management must be
developed to avoid future conflict; every person's opinion must be respected and taken into
account. They must install software to help employees in their work, and to achieve the goal.
They should continue to monitor the performance of their employees and check whether the plan
is being followed or not.

3 What are your suggested solutions?

Since Tim is a new employee, he is almost considered an alien in the company, where people
have been working for a long time and in a particular way he is used. Most employees are older
and more experienced than him, and probably in senior positions, which is why they don't want
to be ordered or what to do by Tim said. First thing Tim should do is to show the confidence,
respect and trust of his team members that he is knowledgeable, professional and a good person.
This strengthening the relationship will allow him to build a healthy relationship with his team.
After that, they should engage in a very democratic, open and participatory management style,
where it has involved the team, engage with them and are involved in making important
decisions for this project. This team will help them join the project, see that they are working as
teams, accept Tim Aston from them and improve communication within the project team over a
period of time.

As Tim's manager, I encourage him to work in the client's best interests, and want to manage a
test by all resources. However, I will talk to him to better plan the test, check the availability of
such team and prepare the project before he confirms the test date and plans. In this case, as Tim
already has a trial schedule, and there are conflicts in availability due to the planning leave, I
advise Tim that he talks to the client, and provides a different date, explaining that people are on
the return of the schedule, and therefore he will be better for the client to return. This would be a
good way to manage customer relationships where Tim would maintain a good relationship
through active and responsible communication, while setting the right expectations in a
professional manner, which would lead to a valuable and valuable long-term relationship with
clients.

a different personality. Get help from human resources staff who are trained to deal with difficult
employees. Follow these tips from the project manager on how to deal with difficult employees
to create a pleasant work environment. Ultimately, the workplace will be a pleasant place. If you
see any change happening do not just ignore it, but instead try and resolve it, develop better
communication with your employees, compliment them on their good work, do not just give up
on your employees in the beginning.
