which is the premier competitive exam for entering technical institutes in India.
 Achieved a score of 99.9 percentile (rank 1147 among about 11 lakh students appearing in AIEEE and a
state rank of 32 among about 2 lakh students appearing for the competitive exam.
 Qualified for the interview of KVPY-Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, which is a Government
undertaken body to promote young researchers in India.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Larsen and Toubro Limited (L&T): 3rd June – 3rd July, 2013.
 Completed vocational training at L&T, ISP Burnpur site, on the modernization and expansion project
of the plant.
 Analyzed the basic construction techniques including piling, slipform method, base protection
techniques, and use of RCC and associated civil works.
 Examined the construction of piles and learnt about the different tests for piles which included
Vertical Compression Load test, Lateral Load test and Pullout Load test.
 Gained knowledge about the working of Coal and Coke handling plant and Sinter plant.

Paharpur Cooling Towers Limited (PCTL): 6th December – 19th December, 2012.
 Gained knowledge about the various types of cooling towers and construction methodologies of
both Natural draft cooling towers and Induced draft cooling towers.
 Visited the site of Durgapur Projects Limited (DPL) to learn about the internal structure of the
cooling tower and the mechanism of its working.
 Helped the company in approximately calculating the volume of the Natural Draft Cooling Tower to
estimate the amount of concrete to be used.
PROJECTS:
 Production of Map of the Academic Area: October – November, 2013.
 Surveyed and generated a scaled map of the lecture hall complex and the adjoining areas using total
station and prism reflector.
 Using the GPS, calculated the position of the campus in the global coordinate system.
 Developed insight knowledge of the working of Total Station, GPS and the software ArcGIS.

Folding Bridge: September – November, 2012.
 Built a mechanically working model of a 3 plate folding bridge that compresses itself to the shape of letter
‘N’ on one side, thereby allowing passage for the ships.
 It worked with the help of gears, worm and worm wheel, rack and pinion and gear trains.
 This bridge model had a completely new mechanism which has not yet been built in the world.

 Metal Bee-Bot: February – April, 2013.


 As a part of a six membered team, built a bee shaped robot model which was recognized as one of
the best projects.
 The methods used were arc welding, brazing, grinding and shaping and cutting of the sheet metal to
form the desired shapes.

POSITION OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Academic Mentor of the Fresher’s batch for the course Engineering Graphics. The objective was to help
out the weaker students and take classes in various hostels and tutorial blocks to clear doubts and to help
students prepare for exam.
Research Secretary of the industrial relations body PoWER (Promotion of Work Experience and Research)
under the Dean of Research and Development of the institute.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
 Participated in the International Science Olympiad and International Mathematics Olympiad.
 Was a part of the five member squad for table tennis of the Fresher’s inter-hall sports competition.
 Won the sports quiz team event in the annual inter college Sports Festival of the institute ’Udghosh’
in the year 2012.
 Participated in a metallurgy quiz as a part of school team organized by SAIL (Steel Authority of India
Limited).
