    Russian Culture Days in Viet Nam


    On the evening of October 5, at the Hanoi Opera House, the opening ceremony of Russian
    Culture Days in Vietnam took place. This is an opportunity for Vietnamese audiences to have
    a chance to enjoy the unique and rich Russian cultural values that are also close to the
    Vietnamese people. This event is also a proof that the two ethnic groups are always interested
    in each other's culture. Some of the notable activities during the event include an exhibition
    themed on Nature in Northern Russia , and Opera singer's concerts. Russian Culture Days in
    Vietnam will take place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from October 5 to 10.
    2. Peach Blossom Festival
    Peach Blossom Festival is a traditional Japanese festival called hanami that usually takes
    place at the end of March every year. This is one of the oldest festivals in Japan and an
    indispensable beauty in Japanese culture. Hanami in Japanese means to contemplate and
    flower viewing. Cherry blossom is the national flower of the rising sun country symbolizing
    purity and impermanence of beauty.
    The custom of cherry blossom viewing dates back to the Nara period thousands of years ago,
    but it was not until the early 17th century of the Edo period that cherry blossoms were
    planted popularly in parks forming cherry blossom villages , where cherry blossom festivals
    take place flower festival nowadays. During festivals, Japanese often organize picnics, flower
    viewing, singing and chatting day and night. They enjoy traditional food like sushi and
    drinking sake.
    3. Traditional Boat Racing Festival
    As usual, on the morning of September 2 every year, the Perfume River flowing through Hue
    city becomes bustling again with Traditional Boat Racing Festival to celebrate the
    Independence Day of the nation. This year, the 29th Thua Thien Hue Traditional Boat Racing
    Festival took place with enthusiastic cheering of thousands of spectators. The boat racing
    festival on the Perfume River has become a unique cultural feature for many generations of
    the people of the river region, bringing joy on the annual National Day.
    4. Asian Food and Culture Festival 2018
    Asian Food and Culture Festival 2018 will be held in Vietnam for the first time in Hanoi and
    Quang Ninh in April 2018. During the festival days, there will be about 100 food stalls
    introducing famous delicacies of many countries such as Japan, Korea, Singapore, Myanmar,
    Cambodia, Laos. Besides, there are cooking demonstrations by chefs and art performances of
    Vietnam and Asian countries.
    Asian Food and Culture Festival 2018 will be a notable highlight in the National Touris Year
    2018 with the theme "Ha Long Heritage, Wonders - Friendly Destination".
