Interpretation of Results
The experiment was focused on how to calibrate a pipet. Two trials were done in the
experiment. First, the thermometer was placed in the beaker of distilled water. The
temperature of the distilled water resulted to 22°C. On the first trial, the stopper 50
milliliter conical flask was placed on the balance pan and waited for a stable reading
to record the conical flask and the stopper. The weight of flask in grams was
recorded as 46.4764g. The pipet was then filled with distilled water and drained it
into the conical flask. Then, the conical flask and stopper with distilled water was
placed into the balance pan and the weight of flask with the water in grams was
recorded as 56.4489g. The weight of flask for the second trial is the same as the
final weight of flask with water from the first trial. The procedure was then repeated
and the weight of flask with water in grams resulted to 66.4156g. The apparent
weight of the water delivered is the difference between the weight of the flask
containing the aliquot of water and the weight of flask without the aliquot.
Therefore, the apparent weight of water delivered in grams in the first trial was
recorded as 9.9725g and 9.9687g in the second trial. The true weight of the pipette
can be determined by correcting the apparent weight of water delivered for
buoyancy. This can be done by multiplying the apparent weight by 1.0011. So the
true weight of water delivered in grams for the first trial is 9.9835g and 9.9797g for
the second trial. Lastly, the true volume of the pipet can be determined by dividing
the true weight by the density of water at specific temperature. So the true volume
of the pipet in milliliter for the first trial was recorded as 10.055 ml and 10.0017 ml
for the second trial.

Interpretation of Results
The experiment was focused on how to determine and compute the pH. There were
four different solutions with same amount of volume. The 0.10 M HCl has a pH
value of 1 assuming 100% ionization and has observe pH value of 1. And the
computed pH resulted to 1. The 0.10 M solution of HC2H3O2 has 1 pH value
assuming 100% ionization and has an observe pH value of 3. The result of the
computed pH is 2.9. The 0.10 M solution of NaOH has pH value of 13 assuming
100% ionization and has an observe pH value of 13. The computed pH of the
solution resulted to 1. And the 0.10 M of NH4OH solution has a pH value of 13
assuming 100% ionization and it has an observe pH value of 9. The result of the
computed pH is 2.9.
