    SOLID WASTE
    MANAGEMENT
    PRACTICE
    1. Waste Segregation at the household level’

    - R.A 9003 Chapter I Article 2 section 3 (jj).


    - City Ordinance 2008-287 Section 3

    Segregation at source shall refer to a Solid Waste Management practice of


    separating, at the point of origin, different materials found in solid waste in order to
    promote recycling and re-use of resources and to reduce the volume of waste for
    collection and disposal.

    Section – 6-A (RULES AND REGULATION)


    A. WASTE GENERATION AT SOURCE

    (i) The segregation of solid waste at source or where


    solid waste is generated is hereby required and
    recycling and composting shall be promoted.
    (ii) Segregation of waste shall primarily be conducted at
    source to include household, institutional, industrial,
    commercial, and agriculture sources.
    (iii) Every household or business/establishment and
    other institutional are hereby required to provide
    their own respective areas properly color coded
    garbage container or receptacle to be kept inside its
    premises and not on the sidewalk except during
    scheduled collection time .

    A. Every Barangay shall strengthen the Barangay Solid Waste


    Management Committee to enable them to perform effectively the
    following functions and responsibilities.

    (3) Provision of support mechanism for segregated collection and


    composting or pre- treatment of biodegradable waste.

    (5) Segregation and Collection of Biodegradable, compostable,


    reusable wastes.

     (6) Established Materials Recovery Facility: Shall include solid waste


    transfer station or sorting station, drop – off center composting
    facility and a recycling facility.
    MRF front and inside (recycle with partition, residual plastic waste, Hazardous
    Waste and Covid – 19 Domestic Waste).

    Buwanang Talaan 2020 up to this date together with logbook / also with
    Talaan of Hazardous Waste Covid -19 Domestic Waste.
