Introduction

Leadership is the process by which a person influences others to achieve a goal and directs the

organization in such a way that it becomes more cohesive and coherent (psu.edu, n.d). The topic

of leadership styles is explored in this discussion. No single leadership style can function in any

situation, so a successful leader must be able to exercise and switch between multiple leadership

styles on the fly. The three types of leadership that I believe are most important for corporate

success and are as follows:

1. Democratic Leadership

2. Transactional Leadership

3. Transformational Leadership

Democratic Leadership

This is also referred to as a participative leadership style in an organization. The leaders strongly

encourage staff to participate in decision making, but ultimately makes the final decision for the

group. However, in situations where decisions must be made quickly and engagement is required

to overcome leadership models, this leadership style is less effective (5 Leadership Styles: Which

One Are You? | Learning FM, 2017).

Transactional Leadership

Transactional leadership necessitates bonuses and fines in exchange for employee efficiency. In

order to achieve these goals, the supervisor and employee must agree on predecessor targets and

requirements. Employees are compensated or disciplined for their success or exceedance of

achievements if their objectives are not met. This type of leadership is typically more passive and
does not encourage thinking outside the box. (5 Leadership Styles: Which Are You? | Learning

FM, 2017).

Transformational Leadership Style

Transformation leaders create and communicate a mission to their employees on a regular basis.

These leaders detect and then become agents of transformation through inspiration and

determination. This leadership style generally improves employee ethics and promotes company

integration. The transformational leader serves as a role model for employees who strive to

understand their strengths and weaknesses in order to be their best. Transformational leaders, as

opposed to transactional leaders, empower their employees to adapt in order to achieve the

organization's strategic goals. (5 Leadership Styles: Which Are You? | Learning FM, 2017.)

What makes Leadership a form of Arts

Merriam-Webster defines art as "information obtained through experience, research, or

observation." Leadership can also be learned, practiced, and honed over time. In some cases, we

see children's representatives, but this can be the result of their parents' and the environment in

which they live. Many leadership theories are made available in leadership literature, with the

majority of theories focusing on art (Ahmed, 2015). Leadership can be considered an art form in

its own right.

Warren Buffett Leadership Style

“Focus on your customers and lead your people as though their lives depended on your success”

(Warren Buffett). I admire the leadership style of warren Buffett. Warren Buffett's leadership

style is described as transformational leadership based on his personality qualities and attitude to

his employees. A transformational leader is a strong leader with a strong leadership style. This
type of leader is always ‘with' his or her employees. They motivate and encourage employees to

make a phone call. He even celebrates his employees' successes and consoles them when they

fail. All of these characteristics combine to form Warren Buffett's personality. Warren Buffett is

a thinker and a supporter who always pushes his employees to achieve success in their various

fields.

Is your manager a leader or a boss?

My boss, in my opinion, is more of a mentor because he has been a inspiration to my success and

he empowered his staff me during difficult times. When I started the work, I make mistakes, he

sees it as a training ground for me and always guide me to improve on myself. I see him as a

leader of his modesty and leadership style (Amin, 2018). He is a good learner and does self-

development constantly on himself on leading people. So, I would say he is more of

a transformational leader.
